I love Trakehners!
|
Maybe I am getting sentimental in my old age, but I was thinking yesterday how much I have gained by owning my trakehner Sunny. No matter how down I am feeling she always makes me smile and have hope for the future. She seems to understand my moods unlike any other horse I have owned - she'll play the clown to cheer me up or sometimes she just wants to stand with her head in my arms and be hugged. She's only 3 but we have a very strong bond with each other.
She constantly amazes me. Everyone at the barn is amazed too - they thought trakeheners were hot and difficult but she is far and away the best behaved youngster there! Better behaved than many horses twice her age!!!!! I bought her as a top dressage prospect but have gained far more than that, I have also gained a wonderful friend (and lots of friends in the trakehner community here too!).
So thank you trakehners! You are an amazing!

Awww - I love it too when she 'speaks' to me Lottie.
I have a day or two off work so its nice to mess about with her. I'll be backing her this year but she is so kind and unperturbed by everything that I think she will be fine

Hi Tessa and Poppycat... We meet again!
As you've probably noticed I've dropped off the saddle up forum since they decided we have to pay for it...! I'm far too tight to pay for a forum!
I wish I'd found this board before, very interesting!
How are you both? I think I told you about Kylia being for sale, well she is officially being advertised now. I can't believe the lack of interest, especially considering her breeding AND I've lowered the price! Please tell me it's just the market being flat, I can't afford to hang on to her for much longer !
I'm hoping the word of mouth thing will work, the girs who are working her where she is on full livery just adore her and haven't actually put the word out yet to thier millions of dressage contacts. So fingers crossed when that happens the interest will pick up.
God it must be bad when there is no interest in owning a full sister to a graded stallion!
Take care,
Sam & Kylia
