Congrats! And what a lucky mare you have to live in the kitchen like that!
Of course you are lucky to have the hay. In my area it's getting so scarce that people are buying really yucky hay (you know, the stuff that is fit for goats, sheep, archery targets and mulch - typically $.75 to $1.00 per bale) at the sales for mostly $2.40 to sometimes $3.00 per bale - and feeding it until the new cuttings can be gotten in without getting soaked.
Rather than pay those prices for garbage, I've been using the fenced yard as pasture . . .
Anyhow, enjoy the baby - and good luck with the next one as well.
