We just had a very successful show week. Kosmisch, our yearling colt by Happy Hour won reserve champion colt at the Texas Dressage Classic I at the Las Colinas Equestrian Center in Irving, Texas. (He beat everyone except a 3-year old stallion). The judge commented that "the more he moved, the more uphill he got". His trot wowed everyone!
Tanzeln, our 2-year old colt by Enrico Caruso took 1st place in his class --- with a limp. He'd come in the morning before the show wearing an old pony horseshoe (nails sticking into his sole). He was fine right up until show time, when he proceeded to get noticeably lamer as he went & had to be pulled from the championship round... The judge commented "lovely boy, hope he gets well soon"... Oh well, better luck next time.
Anyway, it was a good day for the trakehner colts in Dallas! Several people commented on how well-behaved and easy my boys were & said that they'd changed their minds on trakehners!!!
