It's A Filly!

8)We received word on Wednesday that Happy Hour is the very proud papa of a lovely large, tall and very correct filly whose dam is an Arabian with lovely lineage.  Looks like this filly, who is all black at the moment, will probably turn gray as her mom and grandfather (Induc) are also gray.  But, time will tell.  Her owner says she is absolutely lovely, smart and has the best legs she's ever seen.  She's very "vivacious" and very sweet.  We do not have photos yet, as I believe these will probably arrive via snail mail.  But, we'll post them on Happy's website as soon as possible.  The next arrival is due around May 7th!

Very best to all for a most healthy, happy and successful breeding season. Wink

Congratulations, Renee!  Is this the second Happy baby?

Make sure you send a pic to me for the MWT site

That's correct - However, there would have been another colt which was due in 2-3 weeks, but it was touch and go for this 13-year old maiden mare from the start, even though she conceived on the first shipment, it is believed that she contracted an infection somewhere along the line, and very tragically, she lost a beautiful little colt (I inquired as to whether the mare was given the Botulism vaccine, but she was not, however, they are conducting in-depth testing to determine the cause).  It was most sad as the young gal researched stallions for 2+ years, and kept coming back to Happy.  The breeding went super, but the mare was quite delicate from the start.  The young lady arrived home from work one day this past week, only to find a beautiful and perfectly formed black colt lying dead in her pasture.  Most heartbreaking and gut-wrenching, to say the least.  The most positive note is that her mare is in good health.  Cry

Yes, I can send some pics when I get them, but I have not yet received any response regarding adding Happy's info. and his pics being added to the MWT site.  If I remember correctly from a past email, I believe Lisabeth forwarded my message and info. some months ago, as I initially provided her with his info for the MWT site.  Since we're members, it would be nice to add him (and his offspring) to the site - just let me know what you need.  Thanks.  Smiley

Very best wishes to all for a most safe, healthy and happy foaling & breeding season.  Smiley

Hopefully this filly will follow in her brother's footsteps, then.  Terribly tragic about the other.  Those happenings just make you appreciate all of the safe pregnancies and foalings.

I am confused by this part and disturbed that it sounds as though you feel slighted.  I received info on his 2001 show results directly from you in January, immediately posted them in the "Items of Interest" page on the MWT site, and then corrected them when you wrote about an inaccuracy.

The only photo of horses related to you that I have received was a still of Kari's colt, and you were not happy with the picture and not sure if it should be added to the site.  Then we IM'd on AOL and you said you would try to get a better still off of your video.  I never heard another peep, from you or from anyone else about forwarding materials.

If you have something ready for the photo gallery or the items of interest page, please send it along to me at atrakehner@aol.com.  That is the easiest way, since I deal with the site directly and will not have to rely on it being forwarded.

On rereading your past emails (specifically one directed in part to me and in part to Lisabeth, dated March 18), I am confused by this:

"Also, many months ago, I sent information about Happy to be included as is done for the other stallions.  Do you still have this info?  If not, should I re-submit to you for inclusion in this site.  While we are a distance from the Midwest, we can hopefully make a positive contribution to this organization."

I do not know if this was directed to Lisabeth or myself, and do not know to what it refers.  The only relevant information I can recall receiving is your information for the image map in the Members & Breeders Directory, and that information was included on the site very soon after its receipt by me in your email from November 4.  Is this what you are referencing?

Sorry for any misunderstanding.  Again, send any relevant materials to me directly.
