new house

It's not a horsey subject, but after spending my whole life in mostly shabby, drafty, and falling-down houses (mostly without A/C and WITH lots of spiders) I'm finally going to get to live in a new house! It's SO exciting! Most of the lumber and sheeting has been purchased and is stored in the barn and garage until we're ready for it. The foundation hole is dug, our Oak logs that will be trim are at the sawmill, and the first batch of concrete is ordered. This project is going to severely limit my show season this year, but watch out next year. I'll be back.

Good Luck on the house project. We have been working on ours for the past 20 years. A lot of the woodwork was made with lumber cut on our sawmill. Kind of neat to know the trees came from our land and things were done as in days of yesteryear.
Be sure to take the time to play with your horses. Especially that youngster that you are doing such a fantastic job with. His show record is impressive Keep up the good work, he is a credit to the Trakehner breed

Don't worry, the colt is still showing this year! But my educated horse is getting a year of light trail riding.

Thank you. Yes, it's a TON of work, and we've only just begun. The footing just got poured this AM. We're waiting for it to firm up a bit to finish the surface. Yuck. And I' really irritated with myself. I had no idea that there would be extra concrete, so I hadn't bothered to dig out the stall in my barn so the extra could go in there. I want to get rid of htat dort floor SOOOO bad! So now there's a god-awful splat of concrete in the drive. AAAUUUUGGGHHHHH! I guess I'll just do the stall when we get the slab poured . . . .
