Alter Ego in the dictionary (English):

A very close and trusted friend that seems to be almost a part of yourself.

"the little red devil"

FYI, You can pick one of those guys off the list in the "profile section" to use in your postings, too.  Or you can use your own jpg file, as does Maren and Suzette.

Do you mean, know the horse personally, or are you looking for general information (korung scores, etc)?  I can give that from the stallion book if that is all you are looking for.

Hi Namur, welcome to the BB.
Guter Stern, was a very impressive black Trakehner stallion by Schwarzdorn out of the famous Guayana by Mahagoni-Trautmann, a descendant of the Poll family's trek mare Gundula. Guayana also roduced the Consul son Guter Planet, who is still alive here in Germany and a celebrated dressage producer. He was reserve champion of his approval, while Guter Stern was the champion (in 1988). He had no approved sons in Germany, but a number of excellent dressage horses and brood mares (a total of 52 are registered with th German Trakehner Verband). His ATA aproved son Veneziano (you will find him under the inactive stallion link at teir site) was a very handsome black stallion out of a very famouy mare line, Vermächtnis, associated to Virgil, a champion sire in Germany and the US. Veneziano died young unfortunately. Guter Stern was bred by the Polls at also lived with them until he was sold several years ago. His new stud was not very lucky, they lost him to a colic only a short time after they had bought him.
Hope that helped

Kapuccino was born in 1980, a full brother to Kaspareit.  He stayed in Germany as an open jumper and dressage horse.  Unfortunately he died at the age of 10.  Sorry, that's all I know...  Huh

The Poll family live in Germany and operate one of Germany's biggest and most famous stud farms, Hörem. They came from East Prussia together with a band of Trakehner horses. Their mare Gundula was the foundation mare for the new farm in West Germany. The Polls stood the immortal Consul and today, such celebrated stallions like Buddenbrock, Connery, Fontainebleau, Guter Planet and Ravel, just to name a few.

Unfortunately, they have no web page as of yet.
