Does anyone have details on this deceased "1962" stallion? He was by Achmad by Celcius out of a Hrisolit mare.
Here is a photograph of Oshoga, one of those mares. She is expecting two foals by Diamond this year. One is an embryo transfer and she is carrying one.
Many thanks. Donna Carson Farm www.sportequine.com

So ALMANAKH I was Russian Trakehner stallion, born in 1962 at Kirov horse stud in Russia. He was of bay colour and was measured as 167 cm (height in withers) - 198 cm (girth) - 22.0 cm (cannon bone). His sire ACHMAD 3166 was imported to Russia from Poland. Being born in 1951 this dark bay stallion belonged to the sire line of Parsival through Hirtensang. On the dam side ACHMAD 3166 has POLARSTERN. The dam of ALMANAKH I is bay Kirov-bred mare KHRUPKAYA 16 by KHRIZOLIT 77 (the sire line of Helikon) and out of German bred mare KARTA 58 by CREON - the son of PYTHAGORAS, on the dam side she has PILGER. ALMANAKH I sired numerous sport horses here in Russia, mostly show jumping horses. His blood is rather rare and valuable in Russian Trakehner breeding. If you need any further information or full pedigree of Almanakh I, please, do not hesitate to contact me directly.

I have several mares of this line, all Kirov Trakehner mares. One is a grand-daughters of him and two are great-grandaughters. In each case, he is on the dam line through daughters Beda 1 (1977), through Tysjatscha 9 (1986) and through Orliza 2 (1976) in the grand-daughter mare.
They are wonderful horses.
I will see if I can find your eamil address in the profile section.Thank you so much for your assistance. Donna Carson Farm www.sportequine.com

Dear Donna,
Thank you so much for your interest in Russian Trakehner horses. I have already visited your website and seen all your mares. I must say that you Russian Trakehner bloodstock is really valuable. The stallion Otchag looks great and I suppose he will sire nice foals with excellent jumping technic. Where you have found your Kirov mares?

Dear Elena,
Thank you so much for your help.
We have added one other Kirov mare that is not on the web site yet. She is Bona 10, half sister to the mare, Poljanka, by Novator 60.
I am enjoying my new stallion, Otschag. I cannot really remember what my day was like before he came to us from Moscow.
I purchased the mares from Palle Thisted in Denmark. He imported them from Russia to Denmark when they were two years old. He bred several horses of outstanding quality from some of these mares. My goal is to preserve the Kirov blood for use in America. I do not want to dilute this gene pool. I am currently trying to organizze semen from pure stallions to use on these mares. It is not an easy task.
I understnad that there is a book in Russian regarding these Trakehners. I have seen it in Denmark and have heard of it from another person in Moscow. Do you know if it is possible to get a copy of it to send to America?
