Jennifer makes a valid point, but Sherry, I think that involves the question Karim asked a few days ago: Was the decision to nix another issue of the magazine financial or brought about from other considerations. And you responded that you were of the impression it was financial.

If there is a lack of interest in people capable of "doing" the magazine to do it, that is something completely apart from the money.

I will volunteer to do just about anything. (OK, not "anything"). I have, and have been told more than once that my volunteer assistance was not needed. Others out there like me, who have some energy and ability to volunteer, need to find a direction.

There are people here motivated to do much more than whine, so let's get some kind of direction and move forward, POSITIVELY.

Hey-the decision was a financial one that the board made--the idea of making sure we have enough volunteers was entirely my opinion--I can't even imagine the amount of time it takes--for those of you who think you can volunteer--get a hold of Helen Gibble or Vanda Werner

I have already volunteered my time to research and write articles for the magazine, but would consider volunteering to put together one of the issues. I have experience as a magazine editor (for a hospital conglomerate) and have a degree in journalism, have worked for ad agencies - so have much experience in this area with regard to editing, writing, advertising, film, printing, mailing, etc. I have samples and can provide resume and references if the ATA needs another editor. Sherry - let us know how and when to move forward. Also, if I had a list of emails and phone numbers for the membership, I would be willing to poll people regarding the subscription price increase.

Lara: My thanks for offering your services & expertise!

I am also willing to contribute my time wherever needed. (It seems to me a number of us are, which should alleviate the "volunteer issue.")

I have a degree in marketing, minor in journalism. Would be happy to be part of the group that tackles the great suggestions made by Karim & Tannenwald.

It's refreshing to hear us joining together for the good of our Trakehners and the ATA. As a TEAM...I think we can make this happen! Wink
