After all the nights sleeping in the barn, she decided to have her Donaufurst foal just before dark in the field about 8:00.  Got there at the very end after having checked her just an hour before.  Whoever wrote that piece about broodmares and their timing  --- did you have to show it to my mare?  She is determined to have her babies all by herself every year.

But he's beautiful.  So very sweet.  Mom and son doing fine.  These pics are at 3 hours old.
