 Cry

Just received message that Renaissance Fleur TSF, the most talented dressage horse in the Trakehner community right now and 2nd in the World Cup series, suffered a complicated injury, resulting in a broken leg. The mare is currently in one of Germany's best vet clinics in Telgte, but accroding to the news, it is questionable if she will return to her career, or even survive.
I'm really in shock over this, that horse is very special. Apart from the loss for Trakehner dom, I really hope she can live and make her owner Elke von Lingelsheim happy in other ways!

Keep the good thoughts coming, folks!!

It is terrible news. I read it a few minutes ago on a german site but I didn't understood what was goiing on. A fracture, it couldn't have been worse. I hope she will survive in the first place, how terribly sad.... Cry

My sincere thoughts & prayers go out to Renaissance Fleur TSF, her owners, Monica, and the Trakehner horse, in general.  Another very harsh reminder of just how delicate and fragile life can be.  Condolences.

This is SO horrible!
Please let us know what happens!
My sincerest sympathy to the owners, rider and grooms etc.  It is so hard to have such a magnificent individual be so shockingly taken away.  We all know how they must feel.

Thoughts & prayers for her recovery.  What a tragedy that such a shining representative of the breed has had her career so cruelly ended.  Get better Fleur!

It was a stall situation. She got free while grooms were cleaning her stall, enjoyed cantering around in the yard, slipped on the frozen ground and broke one of her front legs. It's a very compilcated splinter of bones. If she survives, she has to stay for at least 4 months in the hospital.Eke Buck, her breeder and owner, invested all the last few years in the career of her horse, not only money......and her rider lost her only dressage hope for the international competition.Fleur had taken her back into the international circuit. These news ruined all our joy in these days...

So far, she is alive. Surgery took 3 hours, they connected all loose parts as well as they could, everybody now hopes for a recovery, but it is obviously more than questionable.

What a tragic situation for everyone.  She is so important to not only those close to her, but to the whole Trakehner world.  My prayers are with her.  Barb

Unbelievably tragic and sad.  A huge blow to all those directly involved with her and the Trakehner community across the world!

Please pass all our thoughts and prayers.  My heart goes out to the grooms as well...can't imagine how they must feel.

Dear Maren & Erhard,
Maybe you can post an address for them, so that we may all send them 'get well" cards & notes of encouragements.
Please let us know!

The operation seems to be successfull - she is eating very well, lying down and standing up without any problems. Therefore - hopefully - she can start her career as a broodmare ,after having recovered.Having her back as a broodmare always was  the plan of her owner, now it will be earlier than she tought......Here is her adress:

Erhard, can you clarify?

Rumor is out she had to be humanely destroyed since the chances of a successful healing were very slim. True or not? I hope not...

I just talked to the owner,Friday morning:she is alive and is eating, getting up and lying down.Of course not yet on the safe side, because the doctors don't know, wether the operation has been successful. Therefore all our prayers are still needed.I'll keep you informed.
