Exciting news, we've got another German stallion that will be available to North American breeders. Guy Laroche (Michelangelo out of Galante V by Lucado) has just been purchased by Rappenhof Trakehner Stud (www.vawebdesign.com/rappenhof). Guy Laroche was a Premium stallion at his approval.
Congratulations to Connie!

That's a pretty exciting Michelangelo son! Dam line is excellent, with lots of performance blood. And Guy Laroche is a proven sire here, his daughters rank highly at central inspections and together with his sire and his half-brother Kennedy, Guy Laroche is ranked in the top 10 of mare producers in the German Trakehner breed (based on their inspection scores). Congratulations, ATA!!

TANZBRISE by Windfall out of Tariana
|
Talk about an old-thread revival
There are some offspring photos on Connie's website.
Our Guy filly, Toujours Felicite, has some photos on our website at http://atrakehner.com/elfifoal.html. Her owner adores her and is taking her to her first show in Connecticut in a couple of weeks. She plans to take her to NEDA and to Devon, so hopefully this will be a good foot-wetter.
"Gipper" is out of Tanzelfe by Kaspareit. We are breeding Elfi's dam, Tariana (Graditz-Avignon) to him this year.
I highly recommend him for the right kind of mare. From my observations, he stamps his kids with elastic movement, a good shoulder, and a gorgeous neck. Like Guy's, Gipper's temperament is outstanding but Elf is one of our easiest mares, so it is hard to say how much of that came from which side and the "nurture" factor. His kids also seem to get a lot of his facial structure, which perhaps is most attractive on a colt. He is definitely not a refining stallion (has a lot of his dam's side of the family) and I would avoid breeding a mare with a long back to him.
But he is an excellent prospect for most of our mares, and I think we will breed to him more in the future.
