Comment on the pinto foal: nobody wanted it. The 8K was "produced" by two bidders working on behalf of the owner. The foal is a freak, I'm sorry. It was really weird to look at (especially the face) and was very normal overall. As a solid color, it would probably not have been selected.

Where does that color come from ? The mother looks like a chestnut with a bald face, at least as best as I can see.

Hirtentanz is sabino (frame? and homozygous black?) all of the (3?) foals from this pairing have been wild.


Do you know where pictures are of previous foals ?
Is he then, technically, not a pinto ?

Hirtentanz is said to throw bling AKA chrome.

I would say the foal is pinto.

A paint is a quarterhorse but the term pinto refers to color in a horse of any breed.

Americans like bling. Germans, not so much, JMHO.
