Maren has the stallion selection lists up on TI. Schiffon Ps is listed as the damsire of 5 or 6 of the colts! Hirtentanz has 6 offspring in the lists, Imperio 3 and Ballzauber 2.

There's some really interesting blood in the lists - is it my imagination or is there more xx blood this year? #6, #41, #97, and #257 are my picks (although for personal reasons, I can't wait to see Connery's 3 entries and #155 as both Connery and Corne are closely related to my Contessa).

Can't wait for more of the reports. How many colts do the inspectors look at when they start the process? Do you have to nominate your colt or do they look at all the foals born and ask to see them in two years time?

Only one Ballzauber was shown and he is reserve list.
The Lord Luciano colt was selected!!

Stallion owners can nominate whatever they feel has stallion qualities for the pre-selections. Often though, recommendations to "raise as stallion prospect" are given at foal inspections.

So what do the reserve candidates do? Do they only get shown if the 'real' candidates drop out or are they the spring approval candidates? Or are they reserve for another reason (ie will be shown if they grow out of the phase they are in currently)?

FYI - Just figured it out myself so this is a PSA Smiley  There is an iPhone App (free) for Clipmyhorse... (so would assume that would work also for iPad etc.  I'm going to try it out on the Hanno approvals since that is up first... Wink

Something to Talk sold for 8,000.

I was struck by the number of solid black or black with minimal white horses.

I only caught the end of it.

I thought the prices were very low for the foals.
My live feed stopped loading before the stallions were all announced.

20? 21? stallions went into the final selection. About 7 went premium, but I couldn't figure out who was the Champion and Vice Champion. Both Imperio sons were premium. Also approved was the xx stallion - the first one in the lists, and the Axis son @ #4.

Unapproved was the Heops son, but they had lots to say about him, I caught "pedigree' and 'jumping' but my German is pretty limited.

The Siegerhengst will be named tomorrow.  The individual awards will also be given then (best jumper, etc).  Very cool the TB was approved.  Tomorrow all starts @ 10am on www.clipmyhorse.de (3am for me here in the Central time zond)

The Heops was invited back after performance test.
Best jumper in everybody's book by far: the chestnut Dramatiker son (dam by Opernball). Fantastic horse, also a very good mover.

I'm personally very disappointed by the Imperios, narrow feet, no walk (actually one was pacing in hand, don't know I've seen that one before), very hectic jumpers, overall very non-athletic horses. Many don't understand those premiums.

The premium Hirtentanz son was not a good jumper, very skittish and afraid. He was also not lead into the chute in an optimal way (the comment has been made frequently now, but others had the same problem and did much better). We all don't understand that premium either.
The Distelzar was a fantastic jumper, just as the Hofrat - Artistic-Rock.

Overall the most disappointing free jumping lot in a decade. Really painful to watch. We're losing athleticism, right in front of our eyes. Very sad.

I'll write more in a few days, going home now.

Well the Hofrat was the Sieger.... Can someone who doesn't have a computer that buffers every 5 words tell me the two Reserve champs?  Smiley  I think it was the Gribaldi?  and ??

I did not watch all of the at liberty yesterday - came in on #38 and watched from there on, and I didn't see the jumping (although heard about the same thing from Germany Maren that it was lack luster over all).  The only one in at liberty that perked my attention was #54 the Singlo son.  Really liked his movement - esp the walk and canter (!!), but I hear his jump technique was not the best also.  The chestnut was also nice - and it was nice to have a different color (my gosh how did we end up with so many black or bay horses?? LOL) and I think related to the Singlo son I liked? Through the dam line?

Annissa, you have it all right (the color is really a problem by now ...).

Champ is Hofrat - Artistic Rock, loved him.
1st Res Champ is the Gribaldi that is not for sale
2nd Res Champ is the Hirtentanz, no further comment
Best jumper prize: the Dramatiker colt
Best blood horse: Herzruf son

Comment on the pinto foal: nobody wanted it. The 8K was "produced" by two bidders working on behalf of the owner. The foal is a freak, I'm sorry. It was really weird to look at (especially the face) and was very normal overall. As a solid color, it would probably not have been selected.

Are there photos online of the Dramatiker son? Yeah, a great-grandson of Itaxerxes.

So many nondescript solid colored horses.

On the ATA site it has that the Hirtentanz colt was the best jumper. My Internet was timing out and my German is rusty but I swear I heard that the Dramatiker son was the best jumper. Can someone confirm which is right ?? Thanks!

The owner of the late Itaxerxes was at the show and she reported that her stallion's great grandson by Dramatiker was given the honor of best jumper. This is also what Maren reported. Maren reported that the Hirtentanz was not a good jumper. Her report is in this same thread.

The ATA news item now amended confirming the Dramatiker was best jumper.  http://www.americantrakehner.com/absolutenp/anmviewer.asp?a=1365&z=1

Where does that color come from ? The mother looks like a chestnut with a bald face, at least as best as I can see.

A fabulous free jumping picture of Iceman (Ovaro-Schiffon *Ps*) is here:

http://www.trakehner-verband.de/termine/hm/2011/impressionen/#fr

Third picture from the top in the right hand column. Head number 49. Click on it to bring up a bigger version and to scroll through the rest of the nice slide show.  Iceman's dam, Inura, is a full sister to Ivanhoe who was competitive in S-jumping and to Imperium who was selected for the stallion licensing 5 or 6 years ago.

Hirtentanz is sabino (frame? and homozygous black?) all of the (3?) foals from this pairing have been wild.
