Can anyone tell me about the 1978 Trakehner stallion Aktuell. He is a chestnut that stands/stood at Cross Field(s) Farm in California. Any information including showing would be appreciated as I have a really nice 4 year old by him and just am interested in his background. Feel free to e-mail me at fieldplace@newberry.net

I love Trakehners!

Aktuell is one of the very few representatives and members of the mare family of Anneliese by Burgfrieden,who was bred by one of the oldest and most traditional privatre stud of east-prussia:Heyser - Degimmen.Therefore not only a very proven but very rare bloodline too.His dam Ankonda by Lattich (by Lateran)-Poet xx represents a very athletic and noble branch of that family.Aktuell's sire Kassio by Abglanz,himself quite noble and elegant,became a stamping sire on behalf of nobel type,elegance and correct conformation and legs,sometimes he passed on not the most elastic movements.But he kept through his sons the Abglanz-line in the Trakehner breed alive.Aktuell became a very successful dressage horse up to the highest level in the Netherlands and then found his way to America.There is no progeny registered in the german studbook.Certainly one sire more who did not get the chances in the breed which he deserved.

Wow, thanks so much. Pfestus, my colt, is so elegant and has the most lovely gaits that I was wondering if his sire had "stamped" him. Really neat information and I appreciate your sharing it.
