Spring approval catalog is up on TI

http://www.trakehners-international.com/handorf_app_11.html

There is an AA closely related to Bonaparte up for approval and Herzberg too. The one that interests me is the first one, Der Doge - a very multi talented pedigree.

Are the spring approvals the same as the November ones, with the stallions being auctioned?

The AA is also closely related to Rita Haas' mare, Dorina - she is by Bouquet AA (Ismahn AA's dam sire).  Fingers crossed for Herzberg - would love to see him finally approved.

And in answer to your question, yes some of these are for sale (most listings note the status).

Did the Hoffmans send Herzberg back to Germany to be approved? What a great story.
He is such a beauty and successful at FEI in the very competitive California market.

They don't have an organized auction at the Spring Approvals like they do in Neumunster with all the hoopla that surrounds it.  The selling of the sale horses that are indicated for sale in the program take place in the barns between the interested parties.

That's what I wondered because of the number of stallions. Thank you.

@Oakstable. The Hoffmans have returned to Germany (it says on the news portion of TI).

That's not my experience, auction wise.  Yes, there is a lot of back lot chatting, but the auction is simply smaller.  It's a lot of fun, in fact more so than NMS because you can concentrate on many fewer horses and see some amazing stock that was perhaps a little too young for NMS, older, or simply not ready in October.  I saw Alaskatraum at the spring approvals, among others, who are amazing.  Don't count these guys out!

Well, good for Herzberg and the Hoffmans. That's a valuable pedigree and too bad for the NA Trakehner people who couldn't use him with their Trak mares.

Did the Verband insist he jump?

Maren,

Any idea about what Russian Deal will do now that he's been approved?

Thanks!
