I LOVE Trakehners!

"Empress by Enrico Caruso had a colt two years ago by Fandango that I named Elton John TL." Empress also had a filly by Elbiskus and I will confess that I waited patiently for the ShA line of Esna to produce a filly just for me!!! Her name is Evelyn TL.

Go The Distance

I guess that is one of the problems.... people look at Arabians and think of those disgusting show Arabians which are very extreme ("hooky" necks, banana heads, tabletop backsides) and imo not much good for anything and are a parody of a horse Personally I like some of the working Crabbet lines we have in NZ & Aust. The Arabians that we had as kids who went to Pony Club, Evented to 3'5" and did Dressage at Lvl 3 & 4, they were riding horses first and foremost. Cate, most of the Arabians I know routinely compete mutiday 25 milers or 50's...there are plently of GREAT Arabians out there that are not Crabbet. I would have to say, it sounds like you are discribing an Egyptian Arabian, and many of those, I would not take for free... there are some exceptions, though...not many. We did have a non inspected half Trakehner half Arabian stallion, and now we have a half Trakehner half Arabian gelding! He covered some great mares for us, gave us some nice babies, but it just wasn't in the cards for me to be a mom and stallion owner, I foster four great children, and shortly after the two youngest came into our lives, we realized it was time to geld. I still may breed his daughters in a few years if the economy every stops tanking I would love to breed Faith to Zulu or Malachi. Here's a snapshot of our 1/2 Arabian Trakehner , now gelding. It was a tough choice, but to tell you the truth, one I am quite happy with, because I don't have the guilt when I cannot go work him, and I know that he is loving just being a horse, haning out with other horses:) : most of his accomplishments are listed on his sire's ATA page; as you can see after 2007, kids took over my time, and he has sat for 3 years....Hopefully back in the swing of things again soon.... Kiddos are bigger now, maybe adoption...and God willing, we'll be on the trails again:)
