On Saturday morning at 4.35am we had a 7.1 earthquake. We are all OK and the horses are all OK too However the house is a bit of a mess with stuff on the floor, but it is still standing and mostly undamaged and still liveable, unlike some houses. Given the size and location we were very luck that no one was killed in it.

Several fairly big aftershocks so far in the 5's and lots, well over 200, of littlies in the 4's & 3's. I have since found out the original quake was the same size as the one that hit Haiti, so we did fairly well with no deaths. Most of the city has power, water & sewage back but some places are still struggling with condemned houses and lots of the inner city historical buildings are damaged beyond repair and are being pulled down. One of the equestrian centres less than 1000 meters from the epicentre is OK and they stable the majority of their horses (very unusual here) and they had no catastrophes so all good. My guys don't even seem to notice and are still happy to see me turn up daily to their paddocks with their feed & hay.

Once again we are all OK here in Christchurch. However after the 22 Feb earthquake the centre of Christchurch is destroyed and many lives were lost My horses dont seem to notice it as I was making up feeds when a fairly strong aftershock came through... as I dashed outside they were like... hey hurry up with our feeds

Blick We are getting very tired of having huge aftershocks coming through and upsetting us all again. On Monday we had a 5.7 followed by a 6.3. The horses don't seem to mind but this time round the house is a bit messy, I lost my monitor and both printers and the computer room has paperwork all over the place Hoping it will settle down sometime soon.
