Yes, the one by Valentin. I already had all the statistical info (thanks though) but I wondered if anyone has had any experience with his offspring (temperament, performance, etc). I have an 8 year old mare that was his very last foal. Her dam is Deirdre, by Tannenberg. Because of various circumstances, she is just now being started under saddle. I'm curious about her relatives :-)

He did never get any chances in the German breed, but his daughter Balaika became the dam of Bartholdy, champion of the grading and Elite stallion too.Balaika founded her own family here.Polifax was looked at as a very athletic, tough horse with a lot of stamina and willing to work. For example he did a great job as a hunting horse.

I have a Polifax daughter. She is very intelligent. This mare is easily bored and was not the easiest horse to figure out. We gave her ten year break for various reasons and when we began to ride and show her again we had an amazing animal. Herbert Boetcher can probably tell you all you need to know about Polifax and his offspring. If you contact me I will give you his address.

A grand son of Balalaika by Polifax is the black approved Trakehner Black Magic Boy (by BEatos), a very willing event horse in his former years and now a good sire in East Germany.
