Missing Windfall Mares

Two Windfall mares Ingrid and I bred are missing due to the owner's death.  Itasophia was registered, but "Kimora" (WindfallxKolomba) was not.  She is a 2007, black with one hind heal bulb. These mares were last seen in Davis, California in September 2009.  I have tried getting in touch with the family, searching for a will in the county, etc, but to no avail.  A neighbor says the man's sister came to pick them up.  Owner's name was Chuck York.  ATA has no transfer or registration applications on either mare.  If the mares are with Chuck's sister, they should be in California, perhaps the Santa Barbara area, and the sister has children.

Please keep you eyes open at barns, shows, etc.  Perhaps word of mouth will get the folks to reply.  I have posted two pictures taken in June of 2009 by Nancy Dein, who owned Kimora's full sister, Kopilot (now deceased due to colic - God bless her, too, and Nancy and her family who miss her dearly.  Ingrid, please post a picture of Sophie so folks can keep an eye out for her too.

I'm not sure what else to do.  It's heartbreaking to think these girls are lost to the breed...  In addition, my deepest sympathies to Chuck's family and friends.  He was a wonderful man and a dear friend to both Ingrid and me.

thank you,

Lara Meyer
