My coming 2 year old has both Harnisch and Koran on her sire side. I haven't been able to find out anything about either. Do either one have any notable offspring? Did either one compete heavily? If so, in what discipline and how successfully? Also, her granddam is Puszta (by Koran,) does she have any notable offspring in Germany? Any information is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I have all the info. the ATA has on her. I was wondering if any of her offspring are actually doing or producing anything noteable in Germany. I've tracked down all of her "kids" in the U.S. thanks to her former owner.

Puszta's daughter Pillkallen by Mahagoni, born in '84 stil presents that family on a very high quality level her in germany.she is not only on of the best daughters of the legendary mahagony she represented our breed as a multiple champion on several national shows. And her daughter Perkallen by Friedensfürst became the highest graded mare in 2002 with the scores of 8.5 for type,8.5 for conformation,7.0 for legs,8.0 for walk,10.0 for trot,8.5 for canter and 9.0 for overall impression. One of the highest graded mares ever, and having loked at her you will never forget her.A perfect combination of 1st class riding horse and modern broodmare type too.She won her performance test with highest scores too. That family of Pelargonie should be one of the most proven of the whole breed, producing Peron and Partout for example.Arabain genes in the background did an amazing influence and job. Puszta's sire Koran was one of the best sons of jumping sire Carajan,a very noble, elegant black stallion with wonderful riding attitudes.Unfortunately he id not get enough chances in the breed.I think there is still a picture of Puszta's dam Pelotta in my archive. If you like I can send it to you by e-mail.Hope that helped you.Good luck.Erhard

I, too, would love a picture of Pelotta if you don't mind. I have a Putza granddaughter,Phantyne, by Justiz out of Putzablume by Insterruf. I have found a little about Insterruf in the book Trakehner Horses Then and Now. Is there more info on him? I have his bloodlines back through Ararad. Putzablume was imported to the USA as a two year old so I doubt there is anything about her in Germany.
I was told that 3 of Putza's daughters were named "Fairest of the Fair". I'm not certain what that is, or if it really existed. If it did exist, I also do not know which of her daughters were awarded this title.
Thank you so much for all of your info, Erhard. It really helps. I'm very new to the Trakehner world, but I'm truly impressed by the dedication to this horse. I love the Trakehners I have experienced, though they are few in numbers. We truly owe much to all who saved this wonderful breed, more than can be expressed, much less repaid.
Thanks, again, Eileen

Insterruf became reserve champion of the grading in 1974.A lovely black stallion, with good size, bone, perfect conformation and a lot of presence, not always so elastic in his movements -but one of the most popular sires of those years, standing at stud Hörstein. He left 70 registered broodmares and 4 graded sons here. His influence has become quite rare within the last few years. His son Highnoon was champion of the grading, died very early because of a colic, but left his outstanding daughter Shynoon,Elite mare, who is one of the highest quality and most important broodmares today, founder of her own branch of the family and dam of Sabary and granddam of Sky Dancer and Sky Walker.Königsruf by Insterruf was exported to South Africa quite early;his bloodline is still alive through his son Königstein, who again is the grandsire of Dressage and breeding star Münchhausen.Insterruf's daughter Polaried is dam of the Grand-Prix-star Polarion. Two of his fullsisters are joining the herd of the wonderful Singingtrakehners in Great Britain. And there is of course Passarge by Insterruf, still breeding at Sommerlade stud and dam of Connie Kempters top mare Palma nigra. Therefore overall a quite impressive influence this old guy left here in his home country.

Thanks, Erhard, Great info. This helps in making future stallion choices for my mare. I appreciate all your efforts.
I also saw Palma Nigra last month. She is a lovely mare and doing well. It's nice to actually know in person some of the horses of which you speak so knowledgeably.
Thanks, again, Eileen
