11 mares were inspected yesterday by Eberhard Biesenthal at Tylord Farm in Vermont. Ranging from the age of 2 1/2 to 18 years old. All the mares inspected were passed. 9 mares scored from 50 to 54 points and the remaining two, one of which was the 18 y.o., scored 49. There was a tie for High Point so Eberhard decided that they would share the title. Lucinda TL by Inamorato out of Lily of the Valley (54 Pts), half sister to the stallion Lord Luciano and owned by Tylord. Aryana by Kostolany out of Ada *M* (54 Pts.) bred and owned by Susan Berger-Morehouse Farm. The crowd pleaser of the day though was the three year old mare "Evelyn TL" by Elbiskus out of Empress by Enrico Caruso, owned by Beckie Baumgardner, when asked to canter in the outside arena, she jumped out! Eberhard yelled out "she gets an 8 for her jumping ability". She was easily caught and brought back to the ring to finish her inspection. Following the mare inspection the 8 foals on the farm were shown and everyone attending was asked to give the foals a score and then we all discussed the scores. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed this portion of the day and being able to participate in the process. At the close of the day everyone was invited to a late lunch where the horse discussion continued. I want to Thank my volunteers for all their hard work in getting everything ready, including the horses. Zenda, Nancy, Carol and Brenda - Thank you all!
