Joe you know I'm happy for you!
Fiona - your question would prob be best on another thread as it's own topic as it is kind of off topic from congratulating Joe.
Many stallion stations/owners that have multiple stallions keep them all in one barn. David keeps not only his 4 US stallions, but mine, and a few other outside stallions all in one barn (and the last time that I went up there there were even a few mares and a gelding or two. Joe keeps his all together also. The good places treat their stallions just like any other horse and if they have buddies that they can go out with they go out with other horses, and they are generally stalled next to other horses (geldings or stalions normally) where they can see and touch noses. They need that contact IMO. As for introducing a new one into a herd - it is just like introducing any other new horse into a herd. Quite frankly, I've had worse luck with mares than with any other sex (gelding or stallion). The farms I've worked at in Germany did the same thing... I have a photo of Marlo out in a paddock with his gelding buddy circa 1987 or so...

Tim should be fine as he was next to one of Debra's boys at Tylord Farm where they could touch noses. Joes says the boys all talk to each other in the stallion barn. Oscar likes to be in charge and so does Tim so it will be interesting. He said Impressionist is the most laid back of the bunch. Joe thinks he'll put Tim next to Impressionist and Kougar

Hi Joe,
Good to know that Tim arrived safely and settled in like a pro. As his breeder, thank you for the wonderful comments about him. I knew you'd be pleased so I wish you many, many wonderful offspring by him.
Hopefully, you'll take him to this years annual meeting and show him off...
Big hugs to my boy...he's finally home for good
Bonnie
