Since we updated the software some weeks ago, is anyone still having the login problem (where the system calls you a "guest" after you logged in)?
If yes, who are you. If no, how does everyone feel about doing away with the guest posting option: should we continue to allow guest posting or allow member posting only?

Boss-Ive not had any problems at all--as far as guest posting goes--you are probably in a better position to judge that than I--for instance--do you have more problems with inappropriate posts from guests? You are the one who spends all the effort making this thing work--I vote that you do it your way!

I think I may have been one of the first ones who reported the problem, but have not been having any for a long time now.
As far as the "guest posting" goes, why not? I second Sherry.

I have never been able to stay logged in. If I try to do anything except read the program kicks me out and I have to start all over. I tried to cancel my profile and re-register but I could not do that either. Barbara

I still get bounced out after I sign in also. It won't let me back in for at least 24 hours. Very irritating. If you drop the Guest option, I won't be able to come talk to anybody at all!

Dear Boss Mare, I have completed all my Windows Updates as you suggested in your posts & it seems to be working! Logged in and didn't get shut outD!! Hey, Suzette - update your computer, too! Coming in loud & cleak from Kentucky. Thanks!

YAY, Janet! 
I know that it will work in many instances but it IS a drag to have to do...  but then, you should keep your operating system up-to-date anyway, so staying logged in is just another great reason to put on the "geek hat" and update your computer! 
Don't you love these little snowguys? 
I guess we will leave guest posting enabled and I will keep policing. We don't want to lock anyone out of our community... But if you see an annoying post I miss, or that I haven't seen yet, let me know and/or be patient--I will get it off of here ASAP!

Janet, I really wish I could do all that stuff, but I use my computer from the office, and these big corporations get really mad if you mess around with the software! I am not allowed to download anything. I can erase cookies, but that's about all I am allowed to do!
I am just stuck with what they give me - I don't have a computer at home!

All's well from my end and I love the forum. (and, ok. the little  are cute, too)
Don't even have a "geek" hat, but was wondering if the explorer vs navigator issue might contribute to some of the problems people are experiencing? All I know is that if I'm at a site that's not working well, I switch to Navigator (I usually use Explorer) and things work. Might have nuthin' to do with it...or might??? Never had to do it here, tho.
As for guest postings, sure why not, as long as Boss Mare doesn't end up just playing police-woman. Then, of course, I'm confident that there are quite a few of the Trakehner Treffpunkt participants who could take on an obnoxious poster
