I'm barely computer literate enough to put pictures into my computer--I've got not the foggiest clue how to post them here--I can't even figure out how to see the ones that others post

A very BIG  CONGRATULATIONS, Sherry on your new arrival.  Hadrian is a lovely fellow and in fact, we have a soon-to-be "yearling" filly by Hadrian that we imported from BC who is sired by Hadrian.  Very nice filly indeed.

I'm already chomping at the bit about our "pending" "happy" arrival in early May.  It's really hitting home now that we're going to have a baby!  Grin

Again, congratulations and very best wishes for a most healthy, happy and successful future with your new gal!

Wow-not so fast--my mare who has foaled twice before--once at day 318 with a filly and once at 329 with a colt is now at day 353--I'm not at all sure the mare due April 1st but always runs a week late is not going to beat her-- so we're still at 5 down and 6 to go--but babies are so much fun.

It's not the foaling it's the waiting that kills you
« Reply #15 on: March 29, 2003, 12:18:21 PM »

Sherry,
My mare went 353 days and her prior longest was 343. Now on serious foal watch with my TB mare. She is just a dripping and a waxing and a shifting but nothing yet.  Sad

Sleep is a thing of the past, but if I get a healthy, happy foals it's all worth it.

I think it's payback for all that AI stuff we put them through when breeding.  Smiley

Congrads on all your foals can't wait to see pictures.

We're playing can you top this--my little recently ATA approved arab mare went 383 with her Charly colt last year--all 45 pounds of him.  But he's caught up to his brothers and sisters -- and I'm really curious what she'll do this year--but it's not the foaling that's the killer, it's the waiting!

Congrats on the little ones, guys!  Sounds like I'm in for a long wait in the barn wondering which day it will be - these stories aren't helping me figure it out!!!

I agree it's probably payback time for the AI stuff - poor girls..

Well, I am 0 down and 1 to go still! I just got back from the barn and she is still the same.  I figured she would go late but I hope she won't go too late.  It has been VERY active the last 2 days, good grief, I feel sorry for mom. Smiley
