Trakehner stallions-which other registries?
« on: September 03, 2010, 06:34:04 AM »

I'm trying to decide which of the countless other registries are worth presenting an ATA or Verband approved stallion too.

Coukd you help me with who our Trakehner studs are eligible for, and are there any in particular that Are worth the time and effort?  This is strictly from a marketing standpoint for breedings and foals.

Thanks!

An ATA-approved stallion - unless he's done a 70-day test or has an adequate performance record - will not qualify for approval by other registries.  Our performance requirement won't meet most (BWP, GOV, HAN, ISR/Old, RPSI or even the Trakehner Verband) breed registry's performance standards.

A Verband-approved stallion who's done his 70 day test for full approval may be presented to other registries (other standards required by Hanoverian and Holsteiner, but in general it boils down to performance).  Since your question refers to Zauberruf and Ballzauber.  Ballzauber s/b eligible to present to other registries; if I'm correct, Z did not do a 70-day test in Germany, so he wouldn't be eligible w/o 3 placings (1st - 3rd) @ Intermediate/Advanced.

Could Zauberruf be presented to another registry for provisional breeding approval though, Kim? With the performance requirements being fulfilled to get full approval?

I'm hoping to go to an RPSI inspection today and will ask if I have an opportunity.

I see other stallions approved provisionally, full approval pending performance completion.

Ballzauber should be approved by GOV.

Send Ballzauber's qualifications to the KWPN NA and ask if he would be eligible for siring Register A foals with Dutch mares. He completed the stallion testing in Germany so that should work.

There is something new on the Belgian front. I haven't looked into it.

Is Windfall getting AHS mares through being listed in the AHS jumper listing?

I think getting an additional approval or two is very good exposure for a Trakehner stallion in NA.

Here are the GOV requirements for stallions over 5 years old

We will no longer inspect stallions five years of age or older unless they have completed one of the following requirements:
1. Complete the 70 day test with the appropriate qualification scores;
2. Complete the 30 day test as a 3 or 4 year old with the appropriate qualification scores and meet the following performance requirements as a 5 or 6 year old: In Dressage the stallion must qualify for the National Young Horse Championships with an overall score of 8.0 or higher. In Eventing the stallion must score 75% or higher at two or more Young Event horse competitions sanctioned by the USEA to participate in the Young Event Horse Championships, or earn 1st through 5th place at the Young Event Horse Championships. The requirements for jumpers are currently under review. Please contact the North American office for clarification or these requirements or check back with this website. As soon as those requirements have been decided upon they will be published here.
3. Meet the following performance requirements in competition: In Dressage, placing at least five times 1st through 3rd with a minimum score of 64% at 4th level test 3 or higher (in Germany S level or FEI). In Jumping, placing at least five times 1st through 3rd at a height of 1.40 meters, or three times in the awarded placings at the height of 1.45 meters or higher. In Eventing, placing at least five times 1st through 3rd at Intermediate level, or three times in the awarded placings at Advanced level. The performance results listed here must be achieved at a show that is officially sanctioned by the national riding federation of the respective country. Schooling show results will not be accepted.

Point of clarification, Windfall is fullly-approved by the AHS (as well as for their JBP).

Thanks, Kim, I didn't realize Windfall was fully approved.

I didn't get to the RPSI inspection today after all. There is no street address given on the RPSI and the host web sites. And the phone number on both places is out of date.

I was going to photograph for a friend and she doesn't have a cell phone. Terribly frustrating and disappointing for me.

Why hold a registry inspection in an undisclosed location?
