2010 Mare Inspections?
« on: March 16, 2010, 01:53:55 PM »

Just looked on the website and the inspection schedule is for 2009.  Any preliminary dates and locations for mare inspections in 2010?  I have two mares that need to be evaluated and I do not want to go to FL for it.  They will be in foal.

I have offered to serve as a site again this year and either the ATA hasn't finished contacting potential hosts (or they have decided to pass on my offer and haven't told me).

Did you turn in a nomination form to the office so they know your location?

There may still be time if you know of others in your area with horses to present and can get people to organize and/or host an inspection, to let the office know.

The primary explanation from the board for the pitifully low number of inspections has been lack of sites offered.

Anybody heard anything on the inspections in ID, BC or KY? Were they cancelled?

I have some results from the Idaho inspection, High point mare was Elizabeth by Kougar von C with 54 points then the reserve mare was Dresden also by Kougar with 53 points , Then Cindy's Kobra daughter Limited Edition received 50 points but I don't know what the other mares at this inspection scored. Cindy said that two of the mares were not yet three years of age. She also said that a Palma Nigra daughter received model status at the British Columbia inspection. That makes four approved sons and two model mares for this wounderful mare !!!  Also Eberhard is no longer a model mare virgin !!  Big Congrat's To All !!

BTW Anyone know of a three year old that has made model status ?

I actually have some photos of the high point mare from ID inspection (to be posted on the ATA FB page tonight or tomorrow).  I also have photos from the inspection in KY but don't have all of the results in front of me.  I know that there were several nice T'bred and TK mares that were inspected and I think that all were approved... no models though at that inspection.

And no, off hand I don't know of a 3 yo model...

I was at the KY inspection with one of my TB mares Smiley Mary De Lima did a great job organizing and we really had a lot of fun! My TB mare Catch the Bouquet was approved so I was quite happy!! Here are some pictures of her. (photo credit to Rachel Lyle-Cranford)

I don't remember all the information from the KY inspection but I do know champion was a mare by Herzzauber bred by Beta-Rock with a 54, then a Hennessey daughter with a 53 bred by Lynne and George Gramza, then another Hennessey Daughter (anglo-trak) bred by well, ME,  with a 53.   Wink  (sadly could never get my Falke daughter to carry so out of my TB)  There was a mare by Pajou and one by Tycoon that were both also approved and, of course, Rockhill's lovely and very athletic TB mare.  So, yes, all mares approved.   Grin  Mary did do a great job!  Sadly, she had to withdraw her own mare due to a potentially career threatening injury.  I feel really bad for her.  All that work and she didn't even get to benefit from it.

I've just ordered photos and will post a photo of mine when I get it.

I lied - I had photos of the 3rd highest mare.. sorry!  I'm willing to post any and all photos from the inspections but have to rely on others to send them to me. Smiley

Link to the album for the mare inspections on the ATA FB:

It should be a public link where anyone can view.

Elizabeth, ORB-A-M2754, currently stands 17 hands and  is a black filly foaled May 28, 2008. Her sire is Arnold and the dam Is Ehrlichkeit...I think the filly's name that received the high point at the inspection is mispelled.

Photos of the horses from the inspections so far are posted on the Facebook page - you do not need to have an account yourself to view the page.
