Who out there is going to be breeding this year? Who are you breeding to? What are you hoping for?
Looking forward to seeing the trends!

Need to sell at least 2 more of mine so that I CAN breed! (think I may have both in the works...fingers crossed).
But assuming that the ones that need to sell are sold...
Pennant's Valentine (Pennant x Nancy Foster Wolf xx/Medaille d'Or) will go to Tate.
Lovely Lady (Tizian x Lovedream/Donauwind) will go BACK to Tate.
On the fence if I will breed Encore (Frankly Diplomatic xx o/o Milagros Megan/Bagatel) will be bred to Tate or if she is carrying her last foal - will depend on if she is doing well after she foals out this Oskar.
Debated (and still debating) about breeding Emerald Fire (Oskar *Pg* x Encore/Frankly Diplomatic xx) or not. If I do I'm on the fence as to whom... as she is a maiden I want a small stallion and not sure what Tate will throw in terms of size (at birth), and I want to ride her so I debate.
Tanzania *E* (Avignon II x The Princess Conde/Ricardo) IS being bred and I'm not saying until she is in foal and past the 30 day mark to whom (which will be sometime in May/June). Tanz is of course, Tate's mom.

The deal breaker on Pacific is lack of approval, nice stallion, but anything I breed to Emma has to be approved. If I was going frozen, Hirtentanz would already be in the tank LOL.
I'm actually thinking of a Hailo lined stallion - Impressionist, Imager, etc. Oskar crosses VERY well onto the Hailo lines and I'm thinking the reverse would be good too. And that is ONLY if I breed her, I'm very very torn on this one.

Fingers crossed for you Annissa!!
JRR: What a great cross for Taz...You've got all my favorite Trakehners in that pedigree!!
I'm trying frozen on my two mares this year, keeping my fingers crossed for success!
Pirouette's Pasha (by Hilton GS out of Pirouette x Blinker) is going to E.H. Michelangelo...can't wait to see this foal!!
The gorgeous Sayyida (by Tzigane*Pb* out of Pr St Schone Symphonie by Polarpunkt) is going to E.H. Sixtus.
I'm keeping every finger and toe crossed for these matches to work!!

This is what I will be attempting provided my mares actually cooperate this year.
Oskar II *Pg* x Scholastika (by Graditz) this is a repeat breeding and will be a full sibling to Social Butterfly
Oskar II *Pg* x Ala (by Troy) and if we can get an embryo transferred we may be able to go for a second breeding to Joe Pimentel's handsome stallion Holster. We are expecting a Holster x Ala foal at the end of May 2010. I'm looking forward to seeing Holster's first foal crop.
Oskar II *Pg* x Karoline's Traum (by Kartacz) Bless Joe for being so patient with me trying to breed this older mare. I just *really* want an Oskar baby out of her.
I currently own more breedings than mares that want to cooperate (older girls). We weren't very successful with breeding this past year for various reasons which is why we are expecting only one foal this year. Seeing how many older stallions we have lost the last couple of years I decided to start focusing a little more on getting foals from the older guys while they are still available.
We will also be breeding a couple Appaloosa mares to my young Appaloosa stallion, Hollywood Hot Spot, including the dam (Waps Skip N Line) of both of our Tanzeln fillies - Tallulah Belle and Tanzanite.
Best of luck this breeding and foaling season everyone!
Karri

Looks like 2011 will be an exciting year!
Karri - LOL, bless your heart, I feel your pain!!!!! Joe IS a saint - he worked with me for 3 years on Cory (and Emma was the result) it is just all what you can afford to put into it. For me, in the end, it was worth it (talk about believing in the breeding LOL).
Sean - very interesting crosses for both your mares. Did you get the Michaelangelo locally to you? I ask as I know of someone that had 3 doses in the G'ville area and she was trying to sell them.
Kathryn - so glad you went with Oskar on your "old" girl (not old, just old blood LOL) - I am betting you end up with just what you are hoping for.
Oh, and JRR - I'm excited to see the first Tate babies too. Starting to come due in just about a month now!!!

Well, I am breeding but not sure how many and to whom yet. Stallions under consideration are Horalas, Fandango, Lord Cosmo, .....? Aul Magic?
Pairings being considered are: Joanna (Enrico Caruso/Lolos) - Horalas Jacaranda (Fandango/Enrico Caruso) - Horalas Donau Pearl (Schneekonig/Buto) - Fandango Indiana (Unkenruf/Radom) - Lord Cosmo Jubilance (Enrico Caruso/Lolos) - maybe Fandango if 2010 Fandango foal is GREAT.
Indiana and Jubilance are both in foal to Fandango for 2010. Early May deliveries. Jacaranda and Pearl are maiden and I am very interested in getting them going to see what they produce. They are at the top of my "to breed" list.
Would love to consider Hertanzang but he is too pricey for me this year. Am also considering breeding Indiana to a non-trak stallion for this one year. Sandro Hit son under consideration....
We will also be breeding 2 (possibly 3) Kentucky Mountain gaited horse mares to our stallion Persuasive Illusion. Hoping for Chocolate Palamino's with thOse breedings.

My first three foals of the season are due in May. First is Lord Luciano's full sister Lucia in foal to Elbiskus by Ibikus. Followed by Luciano's dam Lily of the Valley, 24 Y.O., bred to Elbiskus. Last in May will be Annabelle by Laiken out of Amberlite also bred to Elbiskus. Next foal will be in June, Esmerelda by Laiken in foal to Lord Luciano, his first foal in the US. The last three foals are due the end of August, one of which is Lord Cosmo's dam Lida by Enrico Caruso in foal to Elbiskus. The mares will be bred to both Lord Cosmo and Lord Luciano this year. My partner and I will also breed our Biotop daughter in Germany after she completes her Mare Performance Test in May. Once in foal, she will be imported to the US where she will be bred to Lord Luciano in the future. We have narrowed down the list of potential stallions for her but haven't settled on "the one" yet.

Luciano is in Germany standing at Webelsgrund. I had his semen frozen last year and shipped over. I have over 80 breedings in my tank.

Small breeding plans this year.
Weyka (OSB Trakehner) X Contango -> embryo xfer to keep Weyka in training.
Koco (OSB Trakehner) X Oskar -> embryo xfer occurs next Monday - keep fingers crossed. Should be an outstanding cross. Oskar's semen was the best I have seen it. Very high mobility. We are looking very forward to this cross. Hoping for a long-legged black with socks filly or colt - I'm not picky at this point.

Good luck to you both, Poor old Oskar was a busy boy last week, I shipped for thirteen mares this past week and it was one of those week when another call would come in as soon as I was on my way home from Fed Ex, By Friday afternoon he gave me that look of you have got to be kidding. But he was a trooper. Amy his semen has been running in the range of 40% to 85% so far this year. He is an amazing stallion !!!!!
