Refining ATA stallions?
« on: January 08, 2011, 01:11:29 PM »

I was asked about which ATA stallions might refine an older style mare. Owner will be looking at the auction.

Ideas?

Person rides dressage, not HJ.

I gotta tell you, a photo I got of a TF Peron's Brilliance colt the other day was simply awesome!  Refinement but with gorgeous muscling!!  Dam is a TK mare.

Nice, thanks. I passed his name along with a few others.

If memory serves, Terri Sikora bred an old-style mare (who threw HUGE foals) to him a few yrs back.  Should have a coming 3yo now.  Maybe she'll weigh in w/better information about what he brought to the equation.

We met him in 2005 at the convention, he was lovely - gaits, temperament, expression - the whole package was impressive.  Love his canter.  Beautiful, sweet horse.  Refined, but a nice body.  I did not expect from half ox to see what I saw from him in size and muscling - he is super.  Thanks for sharing the pic, Kim, wow.  There are videos on his website.
But don't be modest, Taz I believe is a wonderful refiner and multi disciplined offspring for old style mares.
I also love Sinatra in this group of auction horses for refiners, but I think these are both frozen only.
