I love Trakehners!

Just wanted to give everyone a head's up about Facebook. The American Trakehner Foundation has it's own FB page as of last night. Please everyone join the group! I'm also going to try and have the ATA's FB page up and running this week (just a lot of information to upload first!).
For those that are not on FB this is a GREAT (free) marketing tool!

Try this link to get to the fan page for the ATA... If it doesn't work email me or message me on FB and I'll try a different way... I'm still playing with this!
Also, if anyone sends me photos of their ATA foals that are born this year, I'm doing an album for that. I will also do an album for all approved stallions (I need a photo of the stallion, contact info, VERY BASIC info - name of stallion, year born, sire/dam/damsire - and if you give me a link to a youtube video I'll post that as well). There is going to be an album for performing TKs - will do a photo, basic info of the horse and what they won! Also am posting the sales horses that are listed on the ATA site... The only issue with the sales horses is that Lori can't go back and add all the info on the ones that are posted, but will do so goign forward. IF you are nice to me I'll post the ones that are already listed on the sale site, but you need to send me the photo and so forth.
I'm open to all suggestions for other "albums" though!!!! Also will be updating the events calander so that it shows ALL the inspections etc....

It may be a great marketing tool, but I will forever wonder why anyone would want to be on a site like Facebook, where your every thought and action can be tracked.
I love my horses, I love my friends, but I love my privacy.

What is tracked is only what you post and so forth. I have friends that keep their privacy settings VERY high and you aren't finding them unless you KNOW them. They also don't post as much.
I admit I'm a bit on the way far other side LOL, but I have found it to be a wonderful marketing tool (I've actually had more inquires and SERIOUS inquires about horses for sale etc from FB than anywhere else) and trying to keep track of all my old friends has been hard until we all are getting on FB. My HS class is from an Am HS in Germany - we scattered literally all over the world, but thanks to the glory of the internet and now FB we are all just about "found" and connected again. I was even found by a girl and her sister that I knew and was very good friends with in 6th grade in Germany - which for a military brat that moved as much as we did this is amazing!
took me a while to warm up to it but it can be as private or not as as you wish it to me (and sometimes it is more private than posting on BBs.... And FB is MUCH better than MySpace and this was coming from several IT guys that I work with. We are allowed to go on FB through the work computer but MySpace you better have a really good reason!

Nice job, Anissa!
How about listing the individual inspections in the "Events" heading? There are a lot of opportunities around the country--more this year than ever before that I can remember--to watch an inspection and meet some ATA peeps.

I'm working on it Ingrid!!! I promise - I have spent almost an hour each day doing something on that page for the last couple of day (in addition to my "real" job, my horses, my farm, my home, etc... ) LOL.
I'm trying to get the contact info on the stallions finished, then will work on each link to each inspection site (and deadlines and send out "invites" to everyone etc). Then will start on the for sale album etc... Once this is done it will be easy to keep up, but it is a ton of info in the beginning to load. I have a couple of helpers (Lori Whitley will upload sales from here on out on new ads but doesn't have time to go back through the old) and Sean Tennant is going to upload performance results etc - so send in your photos and results!!!!
I will upload Foals of 2010 as I receive them. Also, if anyone has a "fan" page for their stallion and/or farm let me know! I've found some, but I'm sure I don't know all of them!!! If you are and ATA member I will "fan" your farm etc. I haven't been able to do a "group" so if you have a group page for your stallion or farm I"m at a loss.....
I'm hoping that sometime over the weekend I can have it pretty much "set" and then can just add content as we go.

LOL Bonnie - a touch of ADD and no social life to speak of (that is what happens when you live in the hicks LOL).
Actually the horse stuff is what keeps me grounded and is all fun stuff (if it stops being fun I won't do it).
