And your last post on that thread is almost certain to derail it, so not sure how you intend to get more thoughtful responses on it?

Look again.

Siegi stood the Trakehner stallion, Veneziano, and is a very well informed breeder of Dutch horses.

As well as knowing her stuff about TK horses.... She still incorporates TK blood in her breeding program and knows a good horse when she sees one.

And the response to my ONLY post on that stupid thread just shows why I didn't want to get on that thing to begin with as I've told several people privately.  She takes what she wants to hear and twists it to what she believes.  (believes what we are saying, believes what she thinks is the "truth" etc).  It is like beating your head against a brick wall.

Maren, stoicfish, Sally - all great posts and totally agree with all of you!!!  Sometimes you just can't make people understand.

Would someone please tell me where the alluded to comments about Horales can be found?

I love Horales, always have, and I've watched his career with enthusiasm.  I've always thought he was underappreciated by ATA mare owners and never could figure out why.  He'd be on the top of my list if I were breeding, and especially for jumpers (which have always had my heart).

Joy,
The "hearsay" remarks by True Colours are in the thread in uncoth.
There is a link in this thread.
I also posted a link on COTH in hopes that people will have access to all the thought Maren invested in her reply ... as well as the insight she has which is priceless.

I think Horalas hasn't been used as much simply because he has been only available with frozen and that can be an expensive undertaking though not always.

He's been undermarketed too, IMO. Mare owners want to see offspring, the more the better.

Agree MO's want to see offspring.  Maybe Terri Sikora would add to these comments.  She had a Horalas filly last year - sadly lost in the freak tornado they had in CO - but know she intends on breeding back and should, based on the quality of that filly (my personal favorite of the 4 fillies she had that year).

I don't know what has been said about Horalas. What I know is 'true'  - he is performance proven. Before the ruckus began on the boards I personally wrote the poster and offered to share my information on three of the stallions she was refering to, I've bred to all. She never responded...
I don't talk about my Horalas foal as she was one of four lost in a very bad storm. Don't like to go there.  So Helene, was a very NICE filly. I will never know what she was to become but I am already emailing with Jim to return. What I have been told, Horalas is available fresh cooled, he was last year also. The dam Her Highness by Advocate out of Hamina. Pictures included.

Very nice filly.
Cry

I can respect that everyone has different experinces, but it also seems in some cases that people create their own experinces, regardless of what is actually happening or being said. I was actually impressed with the responses that were given and how patient most people were (or the polite absence).

I realize that my last comment in uncoth can appear to be facetious, but it was not. TC has said she feels like she needs to stay within the ATA with this mare to preserve the bloodlines even though she finds the stallions available seriously wanting.

After exhausting research over two weeks, she said Special Memories works for her. (She earlier asked if there are any agents in the US who handle his frozen, that is her familiarity with the Trakehner stallions.)

She has been given an enormous amount of mentoring from people who have seen the various stallions and can advise her from a perspective she does not have. And MO who have breed to some of the bigger names in ATA jumping have contacted her with no response.

I agree with Stoicfish's conclusion.

And someone else along the thread said TC picks through the thread to find bits and pieces that support her position and ignores the rest.

Yup.

I thought I had read the entire thread, but I missed the original comments about Horales.  I agree that MOs want to see offspring.  Me, I like Horales well enough that I'd probably take the chance anyway, but then, that's hypothetical anyway since I'm not breeding anymore.

I read Maren's comments.  Excellent, as usual.  She brings such a wealth of information to any discussion.

What a beautiful filly, and what I'd expect from Horalas.  I'm so sorry about your foals.  I hadn't heard about your loss, it must have been devastating, and probably still is.  I'm so glad you're going to repeat that breeding.  She looks well worth it.
