Ok, this is my second cry for help. 

I need to find Daphne by E.H. Leonardo out of Danuta.  We need her DNA to get the DNA for Target.  Any help would greatly be appreciated!!  Thanks all!  Claire at the ATA.

out of Daphne by Leonardo, 16.2 hands, very athletic with smooth gaits.

So how does that work?  That the mare will help you with the stallions DNA. Or is Target another offspring of Daphne?

Yes, helpful.  If I can get 6 offspring of Target and their dams, then the lab should be able to come up with the DNA for Target.  Daphne is the last dam I need to get.

Very cool!  I'm anticipating my own hunt the DNA battle upcoming on my Troy mare (dam's sample not on file), but I'm not quite down to that on the to-do list yet.  Best of luck, and I hope it works out!

Science is so neat these days.  I remember reading a book about finding the bones of the Romanovs, Tsar Nicholas and family, and they were trying to establish conclusively that these were indeed the bones of that family.  They did prove it somehow by taking samples from Prince Philip, who apparently is a distant relative, and were able to prove the link between him and those many generations previous bones.
