I love Trakehners!

Banditentraum (sp?) is the stallion's name, and shouldn't be translated. I suspect the same is true of "ball charms". Other than that, my German is so rusty as to be painful any more.

Since I'm about done with the entire English translation of Ballzauber's own website in Germany (www.ballzauber.net), I'll past that pedigree part in here:
The Dam Ballgeflüster is from the family of Bea-grand daughter Blitzlicht (which is often mistaken with the Blitzlicht II family, but that one traces back to Trakehnen). Foundation mare Bea was born in 1940 at famous Dohna Stud in Schlobitten, East Prussia. She was by Indra out of Beate by Polarstern and produced 8 foals in 14 years. She was inspected into the main mare book with scores of 2,3,1/2,3 (old system). Her direct son Boris (by Gabriel) was more of a substantial stallion and influenced the breed predominantly through his daughters. Especially noteworthy are Corvina and Donaulied. who became dams of the stallions Coktail, Cornelius, Corvin and of course, Donauwind *E*. Corvinas daughter Coretta is dam of the three exceptional show mares Cordula, Corona III and Couleur, who all ended up as family foundation mares for the Trakehner breed. Donauwind's full sister Donaufahrt v. Schimmelhof is especially known in North America for her approved son Donaufürst *Ps*E*. Bea's daughters Blitzlicht (born 1952; family addition O18B1), Betty (born 1955; family addition O18B2), Bellevue (born 1958; family addition O18B3) and Bambina (born 1959; family addition O18B4) all helped to put the big Bea family on a strong basis after WWII. Ballgeflüster F goes back to the branch of Blitzlicht by Perlenfischer. This is also the branch that produced the stallions Blues, Blinker and in more recent years, the US-stationed Baron Verdi. The larger Bea family is known as one of the most athletic and versatile families of the modern Trakehner breed. Horses from this line have been successful in show jumping and dressage at FEI levels for many years. Other important stallions form this family include Baron, Bal Pare, Beaujolais II, Belluno, Bel Espace Go, Bellini Go, Bellissimo and the great E.H. Banditentraum Ballgeflüster F is a very fertile producer and besides Ballzauber, already produced the full sister Ballbonita F (by Axis), Ballcale F (by Heraldik xx), Ballkaprice F (by Tolstoi, herself dam of 2 foals), Ballmelodie F (by Lauries Crusador xx; again already with a next generation on the ground), Ballmusik F (by E.H. Rockefeller) and Balltimor F (by E.H. Latimer). Dam sire E.H. Itaxerxes was a most convincing champion stallion in Neumünster and was an ideal blend of his sire's substance with his dam sire's elegance and movement potential. Especially Cardinal xx deserves special attention. He only appeared in two pedigrees of approved Trakehner stallions, but both have been known as excellent movement producers and sires of exceptional dressage talent: EH Itaxerxes and EH Banditentraum (from the same dam line as Ballzauber). Tenor's dam Tilsit III produced three approved stallions that eventually all became elite stallions in Germany: the full brothers EH Tenor and EH Tivano, and the impeccable EH Tuareg. Tilsit III is also dam of the elite mare Tänzerin V (by EH Consul), who in turn producced the approved stallions E.H.Tambour, Thalys and Travell. The dam of Tilsit III, Tip-Top, was one of the last living Totilas-daughters in the breed and produced the elite stallion Tipperary (by Matador), a highly successful dressage sire. Through the second dam Ballnacht II comes outstanding performance blood into this pedigree - Marlon was a full brother to the major sire Mahagoni, and the very versatile Virgil *E* is known as a top notch sport horse producer. His son EH Leonardo was the best overall Trakehner sporthorse sire based on FN rankings for many years. The Sire Axis TSF is one of the best EH Sixtus sons in the breed today, both as a sire and as a performance horse. Owned by Sian Read from British Bluewood Stud, and ridden by Terhi Stegars for Gestüt Webelsgrund, the impressive black stallion has success at FEI levels in dressage and is sire of two exceptional younger stallions: Ballzauber and Hirtentanz.
Hirtentanz was the best jumper of his crop in Neumünster in 2005. Awarded with a premium title mostly based on his impeccable demonstration over hurdles, he soon began his performance career with Takahashi Haase for the Nagel Show Jumper barn in Schleswig - Holstein. That in itself is a huge achievement for any young horse, but more so for a Trakehner. By the end of 2008, Hirtentanz has won at M-level show jumping. In 2009, he qualified for the Bundeschampionat in Show Jumping and has established an impressive lists of wins at M** levels (1.40m) as a 6yr old in Germany. Axis' dam sire is the S-dressage stallion E.H. Angard, whose offspring are winners up to Grand Prix dressage. He is sire of the approved stallions Oberon (ex Offensiv), Isgard (France), Avancier (Hessia), Andarc (Hessia), Almaz (Hessia) and Herzfunke. The latter came back into the spotlight in NMS 2008 when his amazing son Delikat was awarded the Ic Resrve champion title. Angard is euqually successful as dam sire. Besides Axis, his daughters also produced the approved stallions Woodcroft Garuda K (by EH Münchhausen TSF, owned by Woodcroft Stud in England) and Ocaccio (by Cadeau, owned by Gestüt Krotenbach). The basis of a lot of this success is probably also to be found in Axis' great mare family. The T20F1 Arcona family (Gestüt Webelsgrund) was established by the foundation mare Alwina. This family also produced the interesting stallion Arc de Triuphe, whose first son was approved in 2008 based on his success as a show jumper: Picobello. The approved Amarant and the 2008 approved Amadelio are also from this family that is also known for such exceptional sport horse sires as Arthus, Arminius and Auftakt. The emphasis of this family is again, versatility. The international in hand driving mares ESt. Arlette III and her daughter Arabica hold up that end, whie in dressage, it is clearly the amazing approved stallion Artistic-Rock, one of the top movement producers in the breed, who makes this line stand out. Axis' sire is Hörstein's longtime major sire E.H. Sixtus. He was an international show jumper for Germany before taking over the role of leading sire from his sire Habicht at Gestüt Hörstein. Today, he is the most impmortant son of Habicht in breeding. The approved stallions sired by Sixtus are: • Axis • E.H. Buddenbrock (more information on the pages of Cristobal!) • Couracius (Reserve Champion NMS 2003) • Donauwalzer (Premium stallion1997) • Fandango (USA) • Kasparow (approved sons Titulus (CAN), Insterpark und Redecker) • Lafayette • Peron Junior (S dressage, approved son Cosmopolit) • Sabary • San Krotenbach • Silver (Poland) • Skatman (3. Bundeschampionat of the German Event Horse, Champion stallion for RPSI)
As dam sire, E.H. Sixtus is just as important and successful. His grand sons: • Blitz und Donner (Premium stallion 2004, now USA) • Kronprinz (Premium stallion 2007) • Lichtblick (M-show jumping) • Okavango (Premium stallion 2006) • Oliver Twist (Premium stallion 2003; sire of champion stallion Grand Passion and approved Singolo) • Tipo (Netherlands)
E.H. Sixtus is not only an impressive stallion personality, but a leading performance horse producer and a shaping sire of our time. His offspring compete successful at FEI levels in eventing and dressage and EH Sixtus also has one of the highest jumper index scores of the breed. His daughters regularily stand in front at inspections and mare performance tests and he is also represented at championship shows like the Bundeschampionat on a regular basis. The Burnus AAH - Habicht line owes Sixtus its recent jump to the top, as athleticism, intelligence, jumping potential as well as soundness and movement quality are hallmarks of Sixtus' hertitage and he is able to reproduce that in his get. Text by Trakehners International.
Ballzauber's first event fore the year is coming up next week, training level cross country run as his first qualifier for the Bundeschampionat in 2009. Would be pretty cool if two sons of Axis, both owned by Americans, turn the BuCha show upside down
