The storms that brought such cold weather in on Wednesday were the only glitch in Taz's travel. 60MPH wind gusts in OH delayed his departure from the quarantine station for several hours, but after that things went like clockwork. His flight was uneventful and Steffi said he walked right onto her trailer (different than he'd ever seen in the U.S. - fuzzy photo attached) and stood like a stone for the trip home. Probably trying to understand the signs (while he's heard German for years, he's never had to read it!).
However, as a representative of the American Trakehners, it was his duty to make sure his German 'cousins' understood there was a 'new sheriff' entering the barn at Majenfelde. Steffi said he "puffed up like a trojan horse, arching, prancing and loudly announcing 'hello new friends, your new star from Amerika is here!').
Hopefully photos tomorrow. Off to bed now to catch up on the sleep I didn't get last night.

After a 15-min stall inspection during which he rolled and met his neighbor, Steffi's chief rider, Kruemel took him for a 15 min tour of the riding hall so he could stretch his legs after so many hours of standing.

I know you are relieved to hear he made it over safe and sound and is setteling in so well!!! I don't think I would have slept the night he flew over either!
