A very tragic incident. This night was one of the coldest in the area and I have to think that to many electric cords (electric buckets) or over plugged outlets maybe a factor. It is still under investigation but this has happened before in the area and it seems to fall on the first coldest night.
Latest news says 43 horses died and 2 male fatalities. No further update on the cause. This tragedy happened on the towns (Lebanon) horse drawn carriage parade that had over 120 entries.
From the news and local people that I have heard from, it is said that the 2 people that lost their lives lived near or on the site and that space heaters were used. Both men were grooms for years at the fairgrounds. The Warren Co. Race Track officials state that people are not allowed to live on the premise but most local people know that the "track" world runs otherwise.
