Did ANYONE get a video of the WONDERFUL quadrille from Friday night?? I'm really hoping they did - and put it on YouTube for all the world to see. I asked the one person I thought had a video camera and turns out they didn't tape it.
For those that weren't there, Jean Brinkman put together a quadrille of 8 horses (6 or 7 stallions, one gelding) the group worked together only once or twice before Friday night and while there were a few bobbles that were covered up pretty well it was a spectacular sight. Really showed how well our horses can perform and how quiet and rideable they are...

I would love to see a video of the quadrille and a video of the horse (Sir Rico by Enrico Caruso) that Jochen Hippenstiel rode upper level. I heard it was a lovely ride and horse.

That was a very lovely ride as well. Those are things that need to be promoted I think!

It was 10 horses, and 8 of them were stallions. They ranged in age from 3 1/2 to 27 !
It was the highlight on the Performance exhibition, and in my opinion, was the highlight of the past ten years. Jean did a wonderful job, and cudos to all the stallions (and geldings) owners. It was a lot of hard work, and what a wonderful way to showcase our "crazy Trakehners". I spoke with one stallion owner shortly after and asked how many times they practiced (twice) and how often she rode with other stallions. Her response: "It was his first time ever with another horse in the ring, let alone another stallion". These horses were side by side (very close) and not once did we see an ear laid back, a swish of the tail, nothing. I could go on forever about how great it was, but for those who were not there, just hope that Jean can put it together again, because it was OUT-STANDING !!!
