New ATA Elite Stallion
« on: November 09, 2009, 02:40:55 PM »

This was announced during the commitee reports in Saturday's membership meeting but wanted to let forum visitors here know, too.  The ATA has a new, Elite stallion: Horalas *Pg*E* with 3 aproved sons, including one competing @ S-level jumpers, and of course his own *Pg* for performance.  Those combined totaled over 50 points to earn Henry his Elite title.

HUGE Congratulations to Horalas *Pg*E* and his owner Jim Rushing.    Grin

(BTW, Horalas actually has 5 or 6 approved sons, but he 'only needed' 3 to earn his Elite title  Cool Cool Cool

It was suggested I include a link for some of Horalas *Pg*E*'s approved sons.   (You know who you are, thanks for the nudge!  Wink  Here it is: http://www.equibalt.com/Progeny.htm

Keep in mind, this site hasn't been updated for a few years, and I know there are 2 or 3 additional approved sons.

Again, Congratulations to Jim Rushing & Horalas *Pg*E*!

Just got an e-mail from Jim Rushing.  Fiatas - another Horalas *Pg*E* son approved September '09 in Lithuania.  The same month he was 5th in a CSI 3* Moscow World Cup qualifier!

Photo of Fiatas attached.

There was a discussion in COTH of whether Horalas was available fresh or frozen.

I think the owner's web site had only mentioned frozen.

The stallion is one of those underpromoted stallions, unfortunately.

He is available both fresh & frozen.  Unfortunately, since Diane Rushing's death the website hasn't been updated.  When Henry was competing w/Hap Hanson, he was only available frozen (for obvious reasons) but has been available fresh the past year and will be again in 2010 I believe.

This is such a great award for a highly deserving stallion.  It can be difficult for a stallion owner to document foreign offspring's success at intermediate to advanced national levels such that the ATA committee is satisfied for the Elite, so having the stallion sons makes it more clear cut.

Hopefully the Elite award will encourage mare owners to use Horalas more.
