New Farm in TN
« on: December 03, 2009, 10:20:20 AM »

Well, we are finally moving.  Bob had his second hip replacement on Nov 19 here in CA and recieved a full release to travel from his surgeon yesterday.  On Monday our household items were loaded onto the moving van and we finally leave for TN at 7AM on Friday.  Moving van arrives at 8AM on Saturday.  After we settle the humans, cats and dogs in, we will do some quick maintenance on fences and barn and hopefully move the equines by the end of December.  So........ I am looking for a new farm name.  The farm is currently called Glory Farm as the previous owner said that the iron front gates looked like the "Gates of Glory."  We will be moving 9 purebred Trakehners to the farm and 4 gaited Kentucky mountain horses we have agreed to adopt.   The farm is 216 acres of rolling pastures with 5 ponds and some woods near Lexington, TN.  Native wildlife includes turkey, deer and all of the other usual TN suspects (possum, racoon, squirrel......).  My initial thoughts are Gaited Trak Farm, and TVW (Tennesse Valley Warmbloods).  Ideas anyone?  Cheesy

Wow, what a change from California.

I'll be interested in how different the culture is.

Welcome to Tennessee!  You won't be that far from us and we have relatives in N. Mississippi.  We may try to get in touch and drop in one day before spring.  You are going to love the location for horse keeping.  I don't know that I would use the word "gaited" in the farm name as a lot of people around here would think you were breeding TN walking horses. Maybe after you get settled, something will just hit you in the brain one morning when you least expect it!
