We had a back to back double header to end the breed shows for the year.
First Show: Summers Delight I in Gray, Maine at DLT Performance Horses on August 21st, judge Gerd Zuther:
Zaubermaus by E.H. Tambour was the total star of the day. She placed first in the Maiden/Yeld Mares 4 and older with a 69.45%. She was called back for the Mare Championship which she won. She was called back for the Mature Horse Championship which she won. She was called back for the Grand Champinship which she won. Judge Gerd Zuther who is an inspector for the American Hanoverian Society picked her over the others because of the suspension in her trot.
Donauseraph by Tradition *Pb*placed first in the Fillies of 2006 with a 69.20%. She also won Reserve Champion in the Filly Championship.
Psalmody by Tradition *Pb* placed first in the Colts and Geldings of 2007 with a 74.20%. He also won Reserve Champion in the Colts and Geldings Championship. He was the High Score Trakehner of the day.
Donaudiva by Timotheus placed fourth in the Fillies of 2007 with a 68.90%.
Second Show: Central Maine Dressage Association Sport Horse Breed Show in Durham, Maine at Esprit Equestrian Center on August 22nd, judge Carter Bass:
Zaubermaus again did very well. She won her Maiden/Yeld Mares 4 and Older class with a 75%. She was Mare Champion and Mature Horse Reserve Champion.
Donauseraph again won her Fillies - 3 Year Old class with a 74.7% and again was Reserve Champion Filly.
Psalmody came fifth in his Colts and Geldings - 2 Year Olds class with a 72.5%. I had to be conservative in his trot. He had spent all morning watching all the horses trailer in to his farm and was thinking he just might be a stallion??? Arrrrggggg!!! Boys!!!!!
Donaudiva came fifth in her Fillies - 2 Year Olds class with a 71.6%. Diva is an absolutely brilliant mover but not always attentive to her handler at this point. Her mother used to score 8's and 4's on her dressage tests! Apple not fall far from the tree!!!
Der Romany by Tzigane *Pb* won his Colts and Geldings of 2009 class with a 76.8% and was High Score Trakehner of the day. The judge loved his apple butt and said she had never seen that on a foal before. I told her he had been born with it and I wondered what I had there. She said a Grand Prix horse!!!
Then the most fun of the day. The crowd favorite! Our little orphan Donaudomingo! Dom came second in his Colts and Geldings of 2009 class with a 75%. He spent the majority of his time working the crowd. He played kissy face with the two dogs that came to the show. He visited the lunch wagon and begged carrots. The judge said she was sure he would fit in her suitcase. Dom says horse shows are so COOL!!!
There was a great photographer at both shows. Pictures are starting to come up at http://unbridled.smugmug.com/ Look under Summers Delight and Esprit.
