I love Trakehners!
|
Hey everyone, if you know of anyone wanting a really really nice mare as a broodmare prospect please let me know and I will get you in touch with the owner of this mare. Highlight is a really wonderful little mare, she is 9 years old. Highlight sustained a career ending injury to her right hind leg. She tore the tendon while playing in a field, so cannot be ridden anymore as she will not stay sound. They have rehabbed her as far as she will go. The mare was schooling 3rd- 4th level with a young teenage girl under the expert eye of Courtney Fraser before this happened and she was going to start showing her in the FEI juniors with the hopes of Young riders in the near future. Highlight is a Trakehner, she is a 1/2 sister to my stallion Pacific, she is smaller and compact, she is 15.1hh. She is by Dalnomer and out of a mare named Hickory Heide who is by Koree. She is registered with the Canadian Trakehner. Conformationally Highlight is very correct, she is a super moving horse with an especially great canter, very elastic and has good suspension. But most of all she has about the best temperament I've ever seen on a mare. She would try her heart out for her rider always, and was suitable for a young person to ride. She has an EXCELLENT jump on her as well. I absolutley love this mare, and I'd like to have her myself, but being that she is Pacific's sister, that wouldn't work out too well for us. If anyone is interested, please let me know. She is for sale, but as Courtenay said, a good home is most important as this horse is VERY well loved by this young girl. I'm sure it is breaking her heart to have to part with Highlight. I have a lot or pictures of her I can send if you'd like, as does her owner. She is located in Langley, British Columbia. Teresa
