Cincy Dressage Tradition Breed Show (pics added)
« on: July 30, 2009, 09:22:50 PM »

We have completed the first show of two and Memeltanz (Tzigane/Mixta) and Maddalena (Tanzeln/Mixta) are doing very well. This is Lena's first show and she was somewhat anxious but still scored 70 and improved with her confidence on all the next classes: Produce of Dam, Trakehner and Breeders Group.

Memeltanz aka Fritz did his thing and we have numerous tri-colored ribbons to hang in the tack room, plus our first Born in the USA Ribbon.

A link to the results so far;http://www.showsecretary.com/rs.asp?Show_ID=181

Hope to get some sleep this weekend Tongue

Congratulations Connie!  Know you're exhausted, but happy.  Nice to see so many entered in the TK class.  Get some rest & good luck tomorrow.

Good going Connie!!!  Dietrich is a tough judge and he is also not known for high scores so anything in the mid 70's is EXCELLENT for him!!!  (I was a at a 2 day show one year and he scored a good 10 - 15 poinrs lower than the judge the day before on all of the horses so high points were very low 70's on the really really good horses - bunch of upset people that day LOL).

I actually thought about coming up for one of those shows (I think there is another one coming up or already happened?) just because we have so few judges down here this year (same judges all over the place makes it hard to get your scores that will count and some of the judges I really dislike).  Too funny.

So today the Lady made a presence. Lena out-did her big bother (well 1/2 bother). Not by a big marge but she did. She place first in the IBC class and in the Breeders Group Class the judge asked for her to trot again. Staci Griffin was handling Lena while Bruce was near the judge with Fritz and when Staci trotted Lena for the second time the judge said WOW Shocked I am hoping that the photographer got the WOW picture.

Although I thought that the colt championship class was misread. I did not see the quality in the young colts of this year that won with the leaping and jumping between their strides that the judge saw and Bruce did not either. But so it goes. Moore was a new judge from yesterday.

I hear that if you get a good marks from Dietrich you are blessed. He writes a column for the USDF (maybe, or something of equivalent publishing) and is known for his stick remarks and the correct qualities of the conformation of a sport horse. I am greatful  for his remarks but, the truth is with the gate man that was volunteering thought that Fritz was a very "majestic" horse. What more could you ask for!!!

It was fun for all of us Grin

Congratulations on both Memeltanz & Lena's scores!  They're both very good scores (and I concur with the scores by Dieterich - very good job there!!!).  Lena did great for her first show - big brother is a hard act to follow Wink

Great things ahead for both of them!!!  I'm sure Taz & Tanz both think they deserve carrots for these two  Cool

Thanks for your remarks and support.

Anissa, I forgot to say that there is another show at Roberts Arena in mid-September. A nice facility with two large indoor arenas that came in handy as it rained most of the day of the first show plus the flies and bugs are no problem inside. In September we get the large horse flies that look like Stealth Bombers. No fly spay is on the market for those big guys Roll Eyes

No can do in Sept...

I'm taking Emma to the GDCTA show in Atlanta but am only showing her on Sunday (2 day show) with Jos.  That will be her 3rd show of the season.  I am in Oregon on a family reunion trip the week prior to the show, get in on Friday, will drive up to Atlanta on Sat, show on Sun, then back to work on Monday.

At the end of Sept I take Tate for his 3rd show of the season to DAD.  That was the only way to get a 3rd show for him (funny huh?  I HAVE to take him to DAD of all places to get a 3rd score for him to qualify for any year end awards LOL).

I'm not even taking Emma to Finals because of the show schedule (SE Finals is the Sun before DAD starts on Tues)....

Crazy year this year.  But good luck at that show!!!
