I've been kind of quiet about mr Preston, but just got a link to some photos that were taken of him at his first hunter show 2 weekends ago. He has been showing and placing/scoring well at schooling dressage shows and even a small local event (BN) in Southern Pines, but this was his first hunter show (with a confirmed event rider). The two kinds of fences that she does not have on her property is brush boxes and brick walls. He went around a 2'6" course with no refusals and like he had done it all his life (they are schooling 3' at home). He was 4th out of either 12 or 15 horses (!!) and Michelle thought he would have done better if he had swaped his lead faster in one corner and if she hadn't added an extra stirde in one of the lines.
Anyway here is the link. He is #21 and #22. She is working on putting a video up so we'll see...

He is coming home tomorrow to start driving lessons with Sterling Graburn (can we say a well rounded horse???). So now he'll be just 30 mins from me and I can RIDE!!!

Thanks. I know the photos are not perfect (he's dangling his knees too much for my taste) but it was his first time and they are the only ones i have of him over fences. He's just such a solid citizen of a horse.
I'm excited to have him closer to home though. Michelle has done wonderful things with him the past year but I have missed him so much.

Thanks Kim. I'm pretty proud of him. I like his expression. Mom's response was "he looks like he is having fun!" and that about sums it up.

Preston is such a good horse. Game to do his best at whatever is asked of him. I'm hppy to hear that he'll be close to you, so you can ride him. I bet he'll be happy about that too.

He's just happy to be doing stuff. He loves to work and generally gets himself into trouble if you don't constantly challenge him. So driving is the next challenge.
