Performance Matters!
|
Maren's posted the results of the first 2 days of the Bundesturnier in Hanover: http://www.trakehners-international.com/event_bundes09.html
M, I have some questions and a comment:
1. Show Jumpers M (1.35M). The first 9 placings all had no faults; how are the orders determined?
2. Dressage M - classes divided by rider's ages? Why?
3. 3yo Riding horse classes - what's S & S division?
Comment is on the mare Cara Feliz (Heraldik xx - Ralf). I remember this mare from NMS. VERY nice and apparently a promising event horse as she placed 2nd behind the NMS Champion Songline in the Young Event Horse Qualifier. How many placings qualify for the finals?

They separate stallions from mares/geldings in the 3 year old classes. Not sure what Maren was thinking, could be S for stute but not wallach. She must be burning the candle at both ends! I don't know how she does it.

I ran a "replace all" on the script and accidentally deleted a few letters, including "mare" so had to go in and fix all by hand - guess I missed that .
Yes, mares and geldings in the 3 and 4 yr old classes are separate from stallions, also at the Bundeschampionat.
The other questions: If no faults, time determines winner. I just didn't have time to put the time-scores in this as well.
Rider's age to separate Juniors/Young Riders from the adult (pros) they usually are. Sometimes they also divide by rider list points (the German system gives riders points for their performance for a year and the more points you have, the tougher the classes get since that way, they make sure you only compete against other people with your points).
Cara Feliz is already fully qualified for the BuCha. It requires at least 2 Young Event Horse classes at A (5yr old) or L (6yr old) level with a combined score of at least 16.4 points and a finish in the top 33% of a Training Level Event (5yr old) or Prelim Level EVent (6yr old). At the BuCha, the finals are then prelim for 5yr old and intermediate for 6yr old. Several of the qualified 6yr olds will already have finished (and placed) at CIC* level.
