Showing in-hand!
« on: January 04, 2002, 11:48:33 PM »

We're taking our newly approved  Grin stallion Paramoure to his first show January 18th!  We're also taking our coming 3 Kaspareit/TB filly!  It is so exciting!  Does anyone have any advice for getting the most out of the short amount of time in the arena (Glory?)?  Thanks!  Wish us luck and I'll let everyone know how it goes!

::)Run as fast as possible to really show the gaits on the back side of the triangle and on the coming and going side go slower and make sure to go in a strait line.  You can make a horse look incorrect if you don't keep your lines really strait.  Good luck!!!

I have also noticed, watching inspections on the triangle, that sometimes when people walk slower to make a straight line they go too slow, hold the horse back and its head down, and force the horse to step wide in the back because it's front feet can't get out of the way.  Make sure to move briskly forward to keep straightness (as my farrier says, "with authority" when he is checking his trim jobs).

We successfully completed our first Cosequin/USDF BCS show with our stallion Paramoure and a 3 year-old Kaspareit filly!  Paramoure was mature horse champion with an impressive 90.60%!!!!  Pagan got a great score of 88.10%, placing more than 10% above the next competitor in her class!

Thanks for putting the results on the MWT site!  Thanks also for spending the time and effort in producing both the MWT site and this BB!  (My website, too, of course!!)
