Never let it be said that who the stallion owner is and the service of the SO may be just as important as the actuall stallion himself!
I'm not going to get into the specifics but I have had an unexpected change of plans at the 11th hour on one of my breedings. Let's just leave it that I had a mare sitting on READY (follicule of 45) and no semen coming. I called Joe at 3 pm and by 8 pm he was at my house inseminating my mare (actually inseminated both of my mares - the other one was expected for the next day). Both mares have ovulated so fingers crossed we caught them both.
Granted, Joe lives close by me and granted Joe is a very dear friend, but I know for a fact that he goes above and beyond all the time on his breedings. I cannot say what a relief it is that he was around!!
So hopefully I will have an Impressionist and an Oskar baby coming next year. Find out in 2 weeks....

Which of your mares did Joe inseminate, Anissa? Which mare is carrying which baby?

He inseminated two mares...
Valentine to Impressionist and Cory to Oskar (for a third full sibling).

Great outcome, Anissa and Joe - best wishes for two great pregnancies and foals. I had the opportunity to talk with Joe at the convention this year and he could not be more kind or welcoming. I had an Oskar breeding which never worked out before Joe bought him, and he actually offered to honor it. What a nice guy.. I always wanted an Oskar foal and will not be able to take Joe up on his offer with the girls sold, but will never forget his generosity.. what a group of friends this breed has behind them. Good luck!

That is typical of him - he really is a great SO. I've gotten pretty spoiled. I've been blessed to work with really good SO up to this point - Joe, John Cassell and Siegi - and I don't think we rememeber just how important they are.
Lara - I am a huge fan of Oskar and absolutly love my two that I've had by him. I am also desperetly wanting an Impressionist filly at some point to retain for a broodmare.

Anissa, here's hoping that Valentine gives you a healthy filly by Impressionist and, of course, you know I love Corey's Oscar babies. How about some pictures of their latest development.

Yes, I'm breeding Lovely Lady to Tate on her upcoming heat cycle. I actually have 3 possibly 4 outside mares already booked to him so I'm kind of excited. This is good as I wanted a very small, very limited book since this is his first year, my first year and he is so young. The mares are all very high quallity too which is cool - one T'bred (o/o a Buckpasser g'daughter, by a Northern Dancer stallion), and 2 very well bred TKs. The "maybe" is an Arab mare, should know more in a day or two. Would make a good cross section to see what he produces.
