Huge Kudos to Kari Cassel and her team for making the registration data available to the public ! You can now go to the ATA web site and look up all the registered offspring of any stallion, dam or by horses reg. name.

I managed to get him in the data base by his name, but not in the stallion data base. It may have something to do with his NATA reg. #. Drop Kari a note so she can fix the "glitch".

Are only purebred Trakehners in the database? To try it out, I entered the name of a mare I used to have, and her colt by an Oldenburg stallion wasn't listed.
Then I looked up a filly by Pregelstrand out of a non-Trakehner mare, and she wasn't listed, either. Both of these horses were registered with the ATA.

I've been playing with it, and haven't found any glitches so far. I saw this yesterday and was going to post about it but life at work got too crazy and I didn't have time.
What a fantastic resource!!!
I'm sure there are bound to be glitches the first little while until things get sorted out, there normally are with projects this large.

What a wonderful resource, thanks for all your hard work Kari! Worked great for looking up my girls and their offspring registered thus far, along with performance results for all of my mares and their foals to date. Only thing I did not see were ATA wins (ie, annual convention show wins, championship titles, etc). Is it possible to have those added if we email you the confirmable details?
Also, I see some have photos if they've been sent in the past to the ata, one of which was a photo that went along with a story on the ata homepage for performance results (nice surprise to see it pop up!) Is it possible to send in a photo of each horse to be added to the database and appear when searched? This would be a really nice addition, especially as years go by for people to actually see a pic of their horse's relatives, although a lot of work I understand. Just an idea for the future - I'm sure you have spent countless hours getting the database to this point.
Another nice addition would be the status of the horse - living or deceased, and their last registered owner, so they can be tracked down more easily, and without bothering the office.

Two questions:
1. If a mare has a foal that is registered with an organization other than the ATA, for instance Oldenburg, should the ATA be notified and that offspring included in the list ?
2. When a mare has an ATA registered foal, will the list be automatically updated or should the breeder notify somebody ?
