Heather, I know this may not be your department, though I thought I'd mention it since I saw you on here. An informative article for an issue would be photos and discriptions of the correct place the inspectors take measurements of the girth, height and cannon bone. In our experices, we have noticed different people measure for height at several places on the withers, and I think it would be nice to be certain that we are measuring at the correct and same areas the inspectors are. I'd especially like to see close up photos of where they measure and how they determine the correct spot to take the measurement. Thanx.

If you wish to become active in the ATA or contribute to the magazine, we will welcome you with open arms ! You can write articles for the magazine at any time. Just pick a topic that you and others think would be interesting to read, and submitt it to the current issue editor. Of course you will also need photographs to back your article up, with written permission from the photographer to publish the photos.
If that does not suit your needs, come to an annual meeting and offer to help out. We are always short of volunteers and would be very pleased to have you help out. There are many places within the ATA that rely totally on volunteers. So just let it be known what and where you would like to become involved !
