Here is my Vincent mare who is allegedly not in foal according to ultrasound. But she definitely acts pregnant, and she's getting to look pregnant, I think. This last month and a half has been nuts musically, but last Christmas concert of the busy musical season is tomorrow, and I'll get the vet out to check her as soon as we're past Christmas.
I also got two head shots in the early fog this morning of my Cleveland Bay/Trak cross. It's so hard to get a good picture of Kate that I'm always thrilled when one actually works. She is so dynamic and gorgeous in life, but she turns into Eeyore when someone is aiming. You have to sneak up on her.
Didn't look @ the pix, but take a look at the mare's udder - not a perfect indicator, but a high percentage of the time, a mare that is in foal (yes, even first-timers and the old saggy ones) will have a bit of a puffy look to the udder. Sometimes within weeks of having been bred.
