need name ideas

I've been trying to come up with a registered name for my Feuertanzer filly. Has to start with "M". I generally use names from science fiction (my mare's name - Madam Chancellor is from one of the Star Trek movies), literature, history. Drawing nothing but blanks with this girl. She's a lovely RED chestnut - flashes between being a terror and a spooky chicken$#^# in her reactions to things - barn name Ruby.

Ideas?

Here is a list of more Star Trek names than I knew were in existence. All series, movies, etc. Hopefully the list is parked in the M's.

From literature, you could go with Miranda, major character from Shakespeare's Tempest. I could see a red chestnut mare being Miranda.

Just thought up one I like better. Playing off both the literature theme and her sire's name, what about Muse of Fire? Shakespeare's wonderful prologue to Henry V that starts out wishing for a muse of fire actually does mention horses a few further lines in.

Magenta, Madeline, Mae West, Maiko (Star Trek),
Marilyn (manson), MANHATTAN, MARIE ANTOINETTE, MERCEDES, MONA LISA, MERLIN'S MUSE, Minuet (Star Trek).
My mare's name is Maedchen (little girl in German), barn name Mookie. Let us know what you decide (with a pic), and good luck!

I like "Muse of Fire", but I don't see "Miranda" for this girl. Perhaps of she was a bit more feminine - she's got a physique like a stud colt - plus, "Tempest" is of the two Shakespeare plays I detest - the other being "A Midsummer Night's Dream". I love the Henrys, "Othello" (my first wandering into Shakespeare - when I was in the 3rd grade), "Hamlet", "King Lear", and "Much Ado". And, no I've not read any of it "in the original Klingon". Grin

Some very good suggestions here - keep'em coming. I'll let you know what I pick, and maybe even get around to posting a pic or two.
