Not 100% sure if this has been posted anywhere, but didn't recall seeing it...
There is going to be live streaming of Neumunster (the stallion auction and "highlights" of the whole thing per the Verband website). Neumunster runs 10/24-10/26, or at least when the live streaming is) and it can be viewed here: www.clipmyhorse.de
Also, already on the Verband website, are various videos/trailers to "get you in the mood" I've only watched the stallion one, but it is kind of cool so far. Link to THAT is here: http://www.trakehner-verband.com/trakehner_eng/termine/termine_hm.html
BTW - for those that are "German challenged" there is a GB flag in the left top corner of the home page that will take you to a translated into English site (same exact info)... pretty obvious, but don't like to "assume" too much.

LOL - you're welcome Kim! I was just browsing today and started wondering if Neumunster would be on line again this year. I can see an early am for me on Sun (I think I saw that the stallion auction is at 1 pm German time).

Performance Matters!

So, I've been busy w/the Stallion Service Auction ad, but finally sent it to the printer, and got "down to business" watching the NMS online catalog.
Of the stallion candidates there are some interesting videos - only one dimension (need to see @ liberty, on hard surface, jumping and of course conformation to evaluate fairly), but still it's fun:
Hokaido (Gribaldi - Biotop) - wonderful use of hind legs and he just flows thru the back.
Rominentenzauber (Lowelas - Gelria) - powerful. Would LOVE to see this one jump!
Songway (Sommertime - Exclusiv). Fearful of the camera, but there were a couple of moments when he decided to move and OMG!

I liked the Hokaido colt too - funny, didn't even look at the breeding when he came up on the screen but after about 2 or 3 trot steps I was thinking "Hockey" then saw tht he was Biotop - so Hockey LOL. It is amazing how much thrust and action the Russian adds.
Is someone going to bring back video of the approved stallions to auction off at the Convention again this year?? And if they do, can they (pretty please) get all of the horses going through the jump chute? At least once? Last year there were several I wished I could have seen jump and they weren't on the disc.

OK Kim and Anissa. Iwish the 2 of you along with Maren woul collaborte on a book abouthow to recognize stallion ancestors in a horse, i.e., "you can see an Anduc head."; "thrust" "Hockey"and "Gribaldi." I'd give anything to have half your horse knowledge.

LOL, so true Kim. I spot the Hockey because that is what I'm used to and what I "recognize". It is also true that there are of course lines/horses that will produce the same type of things (for exampe the Hockey and Gribaldi - you are going to pretty much get better action/movement). I saw Hockey in that one horse because I see the same movement in my two Oskar foals and in Oskar himself (and most of Joe's foals by him) - so when I see THAT type of hock action and thrust from behind I think "Hockey" since that is what I'm used to seeing. I haven't seen as much Gribaldi up close and personal so I don't "see" it as much. I'm betting it is similar for Kim. Of course this particular horse had the best of both of those genes!
That is an excellent book!
