I love Trakehners!

He is now 16.2 and I did not do anything with him until beginning of july.
I start him and here are the results:
Frankly I don't know IF and When cancer will start firing again since I have no remission. So I do my best, giving all my horses as much education as possible.
Lancer de Grey, by Ducati out of my swiss warmblood mare Leena is a very intelligent fellow but he loves to learn.
He has not finish stuffing, especially his neck/shoulders has to grow so he will return to full time pasture soon.
I did enjoy starting him !

Young horses are young horses so I tend to be very soft and patient with them.
Lancer is the kind that want to go go go ! He learns very fast, want to fly over steps so I am always stopping him until he understands and accepts the right way.
I think he will make a nice fancy hunter !
I wish to be there to see him (and the others I own with my husband) next year but...I am in God hands...He will decide.
I receive over 17 chemio treatments and did fight hardly this cancer for over a year now, broke my 4 yrs during chemio's and this year went to show dressage.
Now, the verdict felt: doctors here have tried everything so now I have to head to the big city...
I am terribly squeezed by the time but during all this, my husband and our horses did so good to me. They gave me their inner strenght, they are so sweet !
Lancer never did anything to arm me, he does not spook...He is so handsome. I am always telling myself that something will happen, that he will throw me a big buck, at least once.
It seems they know I am sick so they take care of me.

Well this is my way to forget about my condition, even when I don't feel good, riding and dealing with horses is helping me. I change my riding tremendously since my diagnostic and made huge discoveries, improved my techniques for goods.
Lancer is a very good youngster to deal with. The combination of trakehner blood with my mare did well. He is quick, intelligent so taking the time in each step is very important with him.
While he looked ready since he was 5 days old...in fact, he needs to go through every steps like any others. But this guy will be a dream to ride.

He's gorgeous! Seems to resemble dam line more than daddy but I am very impressed. I had one filly by Ducati (out of Arianne, the dam of A'Osiris by Graditz) before I sold him and she was spectacular. I really, really loved Ducati... if circumstances hadn't dictated the situation, I would have him still.
Congratulations on your boy! You make me proud!

Lancer's dam is chestnut with blaze so frankly that was a lot of chestnut
Leena, his dam is a grade mare but her sire bloodlines goes back to Inschallah and Zeus. In fact she has a lot of Zeus in her.
All along, I thought he was a carbon copy of his dam but now he is getting bigger and some of Ducati is slowly showing.
Next year we will see more how he will developp.
I have seen your filly ! She is owned by Caroline Benny, nearby my place; a huge girl ! We often talk about our Ducati offsprings

Last time I have seen her she was 17 hands and Caroline had started mounting her. A very quiet girl actually !
It has been a year I have not seen Caroline but I am planning to visit her; I'll let her know you ask.

Thank you everyone !!!
This summer was really hard on me and Lancer. I began another series of chemos late may and I had to handle 2 greenies while under chemos..
This took me all about myself and at a few occasions I thought I ws going to die but anyway I found even a way to place well with our hanoverian/canadian horse..Despite everything.
Lancer was terribly tense till we discovered he was very sore in his feet..Until this settle, change farrier, let the feet grow the right way..he became a saint to ride and this is why we were able to finish so well at the final.
Lately we hauled him to another farm to see how he would handle jumps. So on the govern of a totally new rider for him, in an unknown indoor..He really shows a great attitude and potential for jumps.
Here again some pics of this big boy again..He is ready for level 1 in dressage.
I really don't know if I will be able to bring all the younsters..how many time left for me on this earth but every single minutes is a tribute to life.
I am now over 20 chemos treatments, my body has a hard time now..allergic reactions are growing..
But still battling !
PS. I am very pleased with that big boy Lancer, with this cross.
His dam Leena, who has very good warmblood bloodlines did the job along with Ducati.
This mare has given us a filly by Titulus who shows a lot of promise and I just hang around very strongly to be able to start her under sadlle next year. She'll be at least 16.3 hands and surely a strong jumper.

Kudos to you for hanging in there. Every moment is precious, and to spend some of them with your horses--well, that just makes it better.
Do you have any larger photos of your boy? He looks lovely, but the pics are so small that it's hard to see.

Some update on Lancer by Ducati;
I sent him for one month training with François Lamontagne just to see his potential in jumping.
François is a very good rider who is in the Canada talent squad team.
Not only Lancer showed great interest in jumping but he improved a lot in dressage !

He still have to balance himself but he is such a tall horse...almost 17 hands right now !!
